Ok so when you are on the art catalog it shows you many options. Me, I am going to show you about backgrounds/places. Having and choosing a good background for your scene helps give you story a setting it give the reader a sense of location.
Interior:
Interior means inside. So let's say in your scene you are going to have your characters in a office. Well so you at going to need INTERIOR.
Or let's say your characters are going on a date in the park. So you need EXTERIOR. And both can be in day or night.
So practically;
Interior= inside
Exterior= outside
