Ace Toro wasn't your typical girl. She always bucked the rules and hated the world she lived in. She lived in Battery City with her mom, dad, and brother Ray who was five years older. Her and Ray were really close but when she was 13, he left for no reason. She knew BLI was behind her brothers disappearance. Now, Ace is eighteen and the time in every teens life has come. She must get her emotion shot to eliminate any emotions she may have for the rest of her life.

"Ace, wake up! It's time to get ready." I heard my mothers emotionless voice call to me.
"Go away! It's to early." I mumbled as I cuddled into my pillow.
"I swear you are the most stubborn child. Get up. Today's the most important day of your life."
"Is Ray home? Then no it's not the most important day."
"Ugh, Ace we've been over this a thousand times. Your brother is gone, except it, like me and your father have."
"I can't just 'except' it mother. Unlike you I actually have feelings!"
"Well that's going to change today." She said then walked out of my black and blue room.

I got up and decided to take a shower since I had no choice in today's events. I turned on the shower and once it reached my desired temperature, I stepped in. I washed my body and hair so I would smell like strawberries and then stepped out. I left my bathroom and entered my room to see an outfit laid out for me. It was a white shirt, white skirt, and gray blazer with black trim. Of course. Those were the only colors citizens of Battery City are allowed to wear. The way we decorated our homes was really the only colorful freedom we had. I put on my clothes as well as undergarments then went back to the bathroom to do my hair and makeup. I put on foundation that matched my lightly tanned skin, gray eyeshadow, light eyeliner and light pink matte lipstick. I curled the ends of my hair then pulled it all to the side. I pulled on some black two inch heels (because I was fairly tall) then left my beloved room.

"Oh my daughters all grown up. Look at how beautiful she is." My mother said to her friends with artificial enthusiasm.
"Yeah, yeah, let's just get this over with."
"Be more excited dear. Your life changes today."
"Yay, I get to become a mindless slave to BLI. Big whoop." I said sarcastically while rolling my eyes.
"You ungrateful brat. Oh whatever, I'll deal with you later, were running late." She grabbed my hand and pulled me out to our white car where my father waited. No words were exchanged as we left toward BLI.

Time lapse

We pulled up to BLI and I felt a sense of doom hovering over me. This is where my life will lose all uniqueness. I shivered at the thought and felt my mother pull my arm. As we got closer and closer to the shiny white building I felt as if my fate had been sealed and I did not like the outcome I pictured I my head. At the front entrance, a simple BLI worker grabbed my arm and threw me inside. As I resorted myself, I cloud fully see the details of the place I was in. The lobby was a shinny white that was painful to the eyes and down the narrow hallways I could fairly see posters lining the halls. Then, a weird looking dragon thing pulled my arm down the hallway of posters. I saw many that had a persons picture with a red x and either the words exterminate or exterminated, but I saw one that caught my eye the most.

Jet Star looked a lot like my brother.
'But that can't be. BLI took him away.' I snapped back to reality when the monster looking thing grunted toward a door, showing that we had reached our destination. Now is when I snapped, all memories of my brother filled me with rage toward BLI. I punched the thing in the face and kicked its shins. As it fell, I heard an alarm go off, but I could care less. If my brother was wanted, if that was my brother, than that meant he was a rebel and lived in the desert. I know this because of the nightly programs that explain how some people rebel and they are now homeless and live in the desert. I was almost to the door when something grabbed me from behind.
"Where, do you think your going little missy?" The, clearly agitated, voice said.
"Away from you assholes. No way am I going to become a mindless drone." I spat.
"Oh dear. You've made the wrong choice by not cooperating." He said then pulled me backwards. I kicked and screamed but that just caused me to get a hand over my mouth and empty, emotionless stares. I guess he got tired of me because I felt a cloth go over my face and all I saw was black.
