'My name is Aria Daniels, and I am an online blogger. I delve into the countries most disturbed and lost minds, trying to piece together the information I need to try and discover why criminal committed their crimes'

Aria spell checked the new article for the sixth time, before finally pressing down on the publish button. Sighing heavily, she glanced out her window to watch the morning rays begin to lighten the sky. Another late night trying to update her blog, her father was not going to be impressed with her when she was yawning her way to school later that day.

Deciding the pull another elaborate 'i'm too ill for school' scenario, Aria walked across her littered floorboards, stepping over rough drafts of stories, strewn about clothing and empty sweet wrappers to finally reach her bedroom door. She slipped into her purple dressing gown and shuffled across the silent corridor towards her dads room.

Timidly knocking on the door, she waited for the familiar groan of frustration and stumbling as her father tried navigating his way across the darkened bedroom to the door, yanking on the handle to find a shaking and bundled up teenager at the frame.

"Aria" he sighed, grabbing his own black dressing gown off the back off his door, and closing it behind him. "What's wrong?"

Aria put on her most upset and strained face, looking at the floor and switching from one foot to the other, "I think I've come down with something, dad."

Another sigh was heard above her, then her dad pulled her in for a hug, his arms engulfing her much smaller frame, before he started steering her back to her own room.

"Try and get some rest, i'll call your school on the way to work tomorrow," he settled her back into bed, passing her glass of water for her to take a sip, kissed her on the forehead and bid her goodnight.

Aria smiled to herself, snuggling further under her sheets, only feeling slightly bad for waking her father up at 4 am, knowing he would fall back to sleep instantly. Instead, she let her mind wonder to what her readers would think of her new update. A tale based off one of the interviews she had recently been too with a criminal in the prison a few towns over.

Aria wasn't exactly sure when her fascination with criminals and their crimes came from, part of her blamed her father. He was a psychiatrist for such criminals, going across the country to different Mental Institutions and Prisons, to try and talk to and understand the workings of these people himself. He was one of the best in the country, known for great progress and trust with every patient he saw. Aria was able to tag along to some of these sessions as his assistant, which is how she was able to ask her own questions, sometimes she would wait for her father to leave the room momentarily, or sneak in herself, or even managing to end up outside one of the cells once, where the questions were asked through a thick, barred door.

Some prisoners wouldn't say a single word, others told her to just 'piss off', some tried leering at her uncomfortably, when she was lucky, they would answer every single question she asked, more than happy to brag about their conquests, or just open up to someone who wouldn't hold it against them or tell the staff.

She knew that a big day was coming up soon though. The infamous serial killer, Alex Myray, had recently been caught, and when Aria was 'glancing' at her fathers notes the other week, she noticed his name popped up quite a few times. After extensive begging, pleading and even a few tears, daddy's little girl had been able to snatch her assistant job back for the day, to be able to meet probably the deadliest, most terrifying and inhuman criminal in the world to date.

In less than one week, she would be meeting this killer, known for over 246 crimes, those only being the collected data, Aria suspected much, much more, ranging from murder, to torture, to rape, to anything you could imagine. Every way of killing someone, he had done, every form of torturing someone, he had managed to commit. His crimes ran across every country in the entire world, but none more than the UK, which is how he ended up in this country, under this law, and not on death row. Of course, his case had sparked a few political debates over the long extinct Capital Punishment in the UK, but instead they sent him to a mental institute to spend his multiple life sentences, and hired my father to be the person to assess him.

Aria hadn't been able to find much on him, flickering through a few of her dad's files showed neither had he, which she assumed is why he was hired in the first place, to try and set Mr Myray into a trusting, but professional relationship, which could help them find any more information on the guy.

Unfortunately, Aria had a strange feeling regarding his sudden capture. The 25 year old had been on police radar since the age of 14, when he had supposedly killed his own father, but the boy had vanished, since then bodies had been stacking up across the globe, some certain to be his crimes, others a debatable association. They knew he couldn't be doing this alone, but he was also well-known for keeping any company of his top secret, the police apparently didn't even have a single suspect of anyone who has, or still does, work for him. But the thing that was weird to Aria, was after 11 years of alluding the police in countries across the whole world, having clearly powerful friends, and being insanely powerful, did he suddenly get caught now, and after a year or so of complete radio silence of any crimes at all.

To Aria, it seemed to make no sense, the arrest seemed too easy, too quick, too well calculated to be just an unluckily accident for the criminal. And in a weeks time, Aria hoped to find out exactly what was going on inside the mind of Alex Myray.

This is the initial opening for the story. I am having debates about uploading the whole thing, i have another section written roughly in my notes, but it would all depends on motivation and enthusiasm to start a whole new story, i'm not amazing at updates, as i have a fanfiction.net account where the story i have there has barely even started and its been two years since the first update.

Any feedback on the concept of this story would be great, any concerns, constructive criticism, positive reviews, anything would be amazing to see what readers think of the initial idea.

Any dark themes have been covered in the description, but just to mention it again, i do not intend to romanticise these crimes, to find any enjoyment, or happily ever after in the world these characters live in. This would not be a happy story, this would not be a fairy tale, this would be a mentally testing story, which could disturb people, but i'm curious to see where my own imagination would lead me on this, and i'm interested to see where you want this to go, or think this could go.

I won't be uploading a cast for now, and probably won't if this continues in the future either, as i like people to be able to picture their own characters, good looking, beautiful, scary, gruesome is different in everyone's eyes, so i'll let your imagination be yours.

Thanks for reading and let's see where this could take us.
