the following day proceeded,
and hyunhee felt the happiness
overflowing within her as she
excitingly prepared for school.

"morning mom."
hyunhee says with
frantic in her tone.

"someone is in a good mood"
her mother spoke.

"i guess so"
hyunhee replies.

her mother had chuckled
in response as she places
the plate in front on hyunhee.

"hyunhee."
her mother spoke.

hyunhee averted her gaze
towards her and there's
a tint of curiosity visible
in her pupils.

"why are you so happy
today? it's scary."
she jokes.

hyunhee wanted to hide
the fact that she had a
fond for eunwoo. but,
she couldn't.

"is it eunwoo, the guy who
lives a few houses away from us?"
her mother questions.

hyunhee kept quiet
and only nodded.

"what about bin?
i've been rooting
for that boy."
her mother remarked.

hyunhee rolled her eyes
in irritation.

"he's just my best friend."
says hyunhee.

"they say childhood best friends
always fall for each other."
says her mother.

hyunhee kept quiet while
she rushingly ate the
breakfast made for her.

"i'll be going."
says hyunhee.

she makes her way out
and meets the presence
of eunwoo shortly.

eunwoo flashed a smile,
hyunhee returned one as well.

once they arrived at school,
they both depart ways since
they had different classes
scheduled in the morning.

hyunhee searches for bin,
until a hand had covered
her eyes. her vision became
pitch black as she is taken
elsewhere.

hyunhee started smiling
like an idiot, in hopes
of the person being eunwoo.

the hand had removed
itself from her eyes.

"eunw-"
hyunhee stops mid
sentence, as it was not
who she expected.

"ah, bin."

he scratched the nape of
his neck in uncertainty.
hyunhee noticed the
smile fade away from
his face.

"sorry."
she apologizes.

he looks down,
and didn't say anything.

instead, he walked away.

why was he affected when
i thought it was eunwoo?
hyunhee thought.
