my hand fell limp at my side when you told me you loved me,
I never thought someone so beautiful like you,
could love someone so damaged like me.
but here we sat,
with your hands tangled in my hair,
and our breaths coming out in barely enough time to connect our mouths together.
our hips bucking into each other as the summer night made sweat cling to our backs,
we were together,
and we were wild,
and that's all that mattered.
I remember your soft lips carving the words I was so scared to say aloud into the curves of my body,
each syllable trailing a path to my soul.
this was what love felt like.
