JUSTIN'S POV
She had me lost in such a trance, I didn't realize the guys were trying to get my attention.
"Justin snap out of it!" Chaz yelled.
"Shit man. I gotta talk to her." I said without letting my eyes loose her sight.
"Hm! Good luck with that!" Chaz said in a sarcastic tone.
"What do you mean?" I looked back at Chaz.
"Dude, you know how many times guys have hit on her today? She's rejected them all."
I chuckled in confidence. "Do you know who you're talking to?"
Chaz sighed. "Oh Justin."
"Bet you $20 bucks you won't get a date with her." Ryan smirked.
"It's a bet." I reached out my hand and we shook on it.
SELENA'S POV
"Shit. My first day and I'm already late." I sighed pulling into the school. I parked and breathed deeply before getting out. I was anxious and nervous.
I checked my makeup one last time through the rear view mirror. I opened the car door and slid my purse up my arm. I walked up the stairs and towards the entrance. I turned the corner to find 'Student Services' straight ahead.
"Hi, it's my first day, I'm here to get my schedule?" I greeted the secretary as I opened the door and walked inside.
"Goodmorning sweetie, someone's late, but we'll let it go. What's your name?" She smiled.
"Yes, I know I'm so sorry about that, I'm-"
"Bye, Mrs. Allison, I hope you have great day!" I heard a guy from behind. I turned around to find a boy who seemed my age. He was tall with perfectly cut dirty blonde hair. He had a chiseled jaw line along with his pierced ears. Although his eyes were hidden behind his sunglasses, I couldn't help but gaze at him.
"Bye Justin, stay out of trouble!" The secretary called out.
Justin. I thought to myself. I formed a small smile on my face but quickly wiped it off and clearing my thoughts. No guys this year. Focus on your goals.
"No promises!" He called out before leaving.
I chuckled and the secretary noticed.
"That's Justin. He's in your grade."
"Oh really?" I asked.
"Yeah. Kid's always getting in trouble." She chuckled.
"Oh." He's a bad boy. Definitely have to stay clear of him. I thought to myself.
I quickly got my schedule and hurried to my classes.
The classes leading up to lunch were overwhelming enough for me. Not only did I have to introduce myself to the class, I had to stand the stares and whispers. Guys came up to me after class with questions.
*Flashback*
I was walking out of first period when I took a sudden stop. A guy was blocking my path.
"Hey you're new?"
I simply nodded my head seeming uninterested.
"Where'd you come from?" They asked.
"Texas. I moved here two weeks ago."
"Oh cool, I'm Austin." He smiled brightly.
"I'm Selena." I smiled back. We shook hands and just as I was leaving, he tightened the grip on my hand, as if stopping me.
"Hey, wanna hangout sometime?" He asked.
I mentally sighed. "I'm sorry, but I'm not looking for anything."
*End of Flashback*
*Flashback*
I was sitting down in class during 3rd period, finishing some paper work when a few guys came up to me, blocking the light.
I looked up at them, squinting my eyes. "You're like extremely pretty you know that?" The first kid swooped away from the rest and sat down next to me.
"Thank you" I said with a smile.
"I'm Connor." He leaned towards me.
"Selena." I said.
"Oh we know." The second kid said. "I'm Troy by the way. Your gorgeous."
"I'm Jake." The third one smirked.
Feeling uncomfortable, I cleared my throat and before I could speak someone did first.
"Could you guys BE anymore thirsty?"
Connor rolled his eyes.
"No one here is as thirsty as you Taylor." Troy chuckled.
"Why don't you guys just fuck off and leave the new girl alone." She said and they left almost as if she had poofed them away with magic.
"I'm Taylor." She smiled & stretched her hand towards me.
"I'm Selena." I stretched mine out and shook her hand.
"Oh you're Selena!" She smirked.
"What do you mean?" I asked taken back by her remark.
"All the guys are talking about you!" She laughed.
"Oh lord." I said under my breath.
*End of Flashback*
"Selena are you okay?" Taylor asked on our way to lunch.
"Huh oh yes, I'm fine." I shook all my thoughts away and smiled. We walked inside and I followed her to her usual table.
"Selena, this is Charity, Charity, this is Selena."
"Hi!" We both said in unison and I sat down.
A few minutes later, they decided to go to the bathroom but I decided to stay and eat. I was starving to be honest. After they left, I took out some notes from history and started studying them, while eating.
All of a sudden at the corner of my eye, someone swooped into the seat in front of me. I quickly looked up startled.
They quickly noticed my reaction and talked. "Hey hey hey, don't worry. It's okay. I'm Justin." He spoke with a charming smile.
It really was him. Now I could see him up close and his sunglasses were off. I could see his light honey brown eyes that I missed out on earlier.
"Hi. I'm Selena." I gave him a genuine smile.
"You're very beautiful Selena." He smirked making me go weak inside. I felt myself starting to blush. But, before I could answer someone interrupted us.
"Justin!" A female voice called from behind.
Justin whispered a low, "Shit", as he hung his head low in despair.
The girl made her way to where we were sitting and seated herself next to Justin.
"Justin babe, we need to talk." She sounded serious.
"What now Caitlin." He ran his hand threw his hair almost as if irritated.
"What the hell did you do with Vienna last night." She raised her voice catching me by surprise.
I quickly put my notebook away and picked up my tray. "Maybe I should go." I said standing up.
Justin's head instantly shot up. "Wait no no!"
Despite his calls, I kept walking.
'Of course he has a girlfriend. You idiot.' I thought to myself.
I walked over to an empty picnic table outside and sat myself down along with my tray. Through the distance I saw both Taylor and Charity coming out.
"Hey! What happened? Why did that dumbass and Caitlin take our table?" Taylor said in anger.
"Are they going out?" I blurted out of curiosity.
"Caitlin and Justin?" Taylor said sitting down.
I simply nodded. She studied me. "Why?"
I shrugged. "Because."
"Do you like Justin or something?" Charity asked.
"Well-"
"NO. GOD NO." Taylor yelled making me jump.
"I don't like him, I just-"
"GOOD." Taylor shouted again.
"Why though.. Who is he."
"He's only the most popular guy in school." Charity sighed.
"He's also the biggest douchebag in the school." Taylor said almost as if reminding Charity. "He gets every girl he wants and then just leaves them. He's a dick. He only cares for himself."
I sat there quiet and upset. I felt all the walls I had up for guys, starting to build again. I was dumb enough to let them down even for a split second. His innocent eyes didn't match that troublesome personality they're describing. I wanted nothing to do with Justin. Atleast I thought I did. I slowly nodded.
"He's also the biggest pothead in the school." Charity chuckled along with Taylor.
"Wait what about Caitlin?" I asked still wondering why she had called him 'babe' in the cafeteria.
"That was his last girlfriend. They lasted like a month, before he broke up with her." Charity said.
"That was months ago though. She's still attached to him. She shouldn't be." Taylor sighed.
"What do you mean?"
"He never had any feelings for her. He just wanted to get in her pants. I told you, he only cares for himself." Taylor said starting to sound agitated.
'Typical.' I thought.
"Well, I don't like him. I don't want a boyfriend. It's just not part of my future at the moment." I said as they nodded in agreement.
JUSTIN'S POV
"Wait no no!" I watched Selena get up and leave. She was stunning up close. Her eyes gave off such a warm gaze and her smile made them shine even more. I wasn't done with her.
I need to talk to her.
"Caitlin, I was busy." I said putting my face into my cupped hands.
"Is she another one of your bitches or what?" Caitlin's attitude and jealousy came out.
"I wish." I said letting out a an exhausting sigh. "And even if she was, it wouldn't matter" I looked over at Caitlin. "Because we're not together anymore!" I raised my voice in impatience referring to our breakup a few months ago.
Seeing me upset, she put both her hands on my arms and started rubbing them up and down. "Baby it's okay."
"Don't call me that!" I spazzed from her handling.
I quickly stood up and walked back to my table, plopping myself back in my original seat.
"Did you get the date?" Christian asked.
"I didn't get to. Caitlin interrupted us" I said said in a low voice.
"Damn, that stinks." Christian laughed.
I nodded. "The bet's not over though. I'm going to get her."

Once lunch was over, I slowly made my way to my next class, chemistry. After stopping by to talk to a few friends, I walked back to class and to my usual seat.
Mr. Armstrong made his way to the front of the class to make an announcement. "Goodafternoon class! Today we have a new student joining us! Her names Selena." He pointed to Selena and she smiled. I felt an automatic smirk form on me.
"Now Selena, you're going to need a partner for your labs. Uhm let's see who doesn't have a partner." He said looking into the crowd of students.
"Oh. It seems, Mr. Bieber is the only student without a partner. Good luck with that." Mr. Armstrong said sarcastically making students in the class chuckle.
"Don't worry Mr. Armstrong, I won't disappoint her." I smiled and shot a wink at Selena.
Seeming uneasy, she walked over to my table and took a seat next to me.
"Okay class, today we'll be reading Chapter 24 in your books and completing the questions with your partner." Mr. Amratrong said to the class.
Selena reached under her seat, taking out her textbook. The scent of her perfume reached me. I leaned in closer to her. "So, we didn't finish talking earlier."
"Well what was there to talk about." She looked over at me. We were inches away.
"Anything. Ask me anything."
She tilted her head as if to be thinking. "Who was the girl in the cafeteria."
I leaned back into my seat and stretched my legs out. "Caitlin. She's an ex girlfriend. I broke up with her a few months ago."
"Why?" She looked at me.
"Relationships are complicated." I shrugged and she slowly nodded. "She still isn't over me though. Wouldn't blame her." I smirked putting my arms behind my head.
Selena chuckled looking away. "Let's not get cocky now."
She opened the textbook and took out paper. Seconds later she was writing answers down like it was a race.
"Shit you're smart." I said leaning into her work.
She smiled in confidence. "Well, I need good grades."
"Are you like one of those girls that have their whole future planned out?" I looked over at Selena.
She stopped writing and looked over at me nodding.
I smiled. "Tell me about it."
"Really?" She said while I nodded.
"Okay,.. well after highschool, I want to go to cooking school and after school I want to get married, and with my degree, I want to open up my own Italian restaurant." She smiled proudly.
My eyes widened. "Shit, I don't even know what I'm having for dinner tonight."
She closed her eyes and slightly tilted her head back giggling, turning some head in the class. She then quickly covered her mouth to make herself quiet again.
"Sorry." She said still giggling.
I genuinely couldn't help but smile like an idiot. I moved my hand over to the hand that was covering her mouth and gently pulled it away. "No, I like your laugh." I said still holding on to her hand.
She smiled back at me and I could almost see her blushing. We spent the rest of the class talking and I completely had forgotten about the bet. She was so smart and funny and just genuine.

SELENA'S POV
After I was done with my first day of school, my head was spinning and overwhelmed. Justin Justin Justin. Was all I could think of. I kept trying to shake him off my thoughts but I couldn't.
*Flashback*
He took my hand that was covering my mouth and lowered it.
"No, I like you're laugh." He smiled.
I could almost hear myself screaming on the inside and turning red on the outside. I felt his eyes read me like a book. I had completely forgotten who he really was.
*End of Flashback*
I walked down the stairs of the school entrance and towards my car when I heard my name.
"Selena!" I turned around to find Justin walking towards me.
"Hey!" I smiled.
"How'd you like your first day?"
I walked over to my car unlocking it. "Exhausting. I just want to go home and eat!" I said making him chuckle.
I opened the car door, getting inside and turning on the engine. I rolled down the window for Justin.
"Soo", He started talking leaning on my car window. "Let me take you out."
My eyes widened and I had a moment of shock.
I thought back to what Taylor had said earlier."He gets every girl he wants and then just leaves them. He's a dick. He only cares for himself."
I quickly shook my thoughts away.
I looked over at a smirking Justin. "Nah." I simply said.
His smirk wiped off almost simultaneously. "N-no?"
"Oh are you not used to that answer Justin?" I said smirking. Now I had control.
"Well- not really-", Justin was at a lose for words.
"Come on." Justin urged.
"Bye Justin." I smiled backing up my car, making him lean away from it. Seconds later I drove off the school parking lot leaving him confused as ever.
