He had turned his back as her eyes traveled across the cafeteria to find him. Her eyes begin to sting as she tried to blink back tears. She sat down between her two best friends who noticed the tears filling her eyes. Jason grabbed her hand reassuringly and smiled , attempting to bring happiness to the teary eyed girl he once called his own. She looked back at the guy she loved and back down at her food. Devin looked at her and nudged her arm. The girl wiped her eyes and gave the faintest smile. Both boys became concerned as she pushed her tray away. She then looked back at the boy across the cafeteria and looked back down as Devin looked too. He nudged her again and sighed. " Its not like that OK?" he said as he played with the food on his tray. She looked up but not at the boy but at the girl laughing beside him. She closed her eyes wishing to be what he wanted but knew it was nearly impossible. Jason stared at both the boy and the girl. " Why do you even bother to stay with him if you cry basically every day over him?" She blinked back tears and choked on her own words as she said I dont know. Devin glared at Jason and looked over at the boy again. She rose from her seat and began to walk away being followed by Devin."Are you alright?" " I don't even know but I will be back OK?" Devin nodded and returned to his seat and watched as the girl walked away. She reached the bathrooms and sank to the corner of a stall and cried and looked down at her scarred arms.
