I looked out the window as the trees flew by. I sat uncomfortably in the back seat of my mom and dads small car, crammed in between boxes and suitcases. I didn't want to move to this stupid new town, I was perfectly fine where I was. I hated leaving all of my friends behind. Especially since it was the beginning of summer. School let out yesetrday, and here I am moving an hour and a half away from everyone and everything I ever knew. What a wonderful way to start off my summer.

We turned down a long narrow road which led us overtop of a bridge. A lake flowed beneath us as the car continued over the small bridge. Okay this was actually pretty nice. "This is so beautiful." My mom said as she took a picture with her phone. God, mom and her god damn pictures. I bet you could go through her camera roll and know everything we've ever done. I'm not complaining though, I mean, she does get some pretty good candid shots of me. She's like a mom photographer.

We pulled into a long driveway which led to our new house. I haven't seen it yet, inside or out, so I was a little nervous. I got out of the car hesitantly. "Well it's bigger than our old house." I opened the door as I got out, joining my parents as they admired the house. "Now that's the spirit. I think you'll like it Selena. Especially your room." My dad patted my back as he walked past me towards the front door. "God I hope so." I huffed under my breath as I joined them.

I wasn't gonna lie, the house was pretty nice on the outside. The neighborhood was really nice too, I liked how nature-y it was. Nature was always my type of thing. I love going on adventures and exploring. It's just my favorite thing to do. My thoughts wandered as I looked over to the side of our yard. I couldn't even see our neighbors house, just trees. Maybe this would be a lot better then I thought. I'm gonna have to take a walk after I get settled in, to really scope out the new neighborhood.

My thoughts floated away quickly as my parents opened up the front door, revealing the beautiful chandelier hanging down over the staircase. It was a bit much, but it was pretty. "So? What do you think?" My mom turned to me with a smile plastered across her face. "Jesus mom, I just walked in, give me a minute to look around." I walked past my parents and straight up the long staircase. I got to the top and looked around. "Which room is mine?" "To the right and all the way to the end of the hall" I followed my dads instructions as I made my way to the end of the hall.

I stared at the closed door in front of me as I took a deep breath. I could hear the faint chattering from my parents downstairs as they started to bring in the boxes and suitcases. My mom told me that all the furniture had already been put in all the rooms and they were all painted, which made me even more nervous. What if I didn't like the way my room looked, then I would be stuck in a shitty room in a shitty town. Well i can't say that, I don't even know the town yet, or the people who live in it.

I placed my hand over the cold door knob and pushed down. I opened the door and my jaw dropped. Holy shit this thing was huge. I walked in and admired the space around me, which I didn't have in my other house. I barely had any room to get changed in the morning. God, in this room I could probably have 30 people getting changed at once and it would still be a comfortable fit. I walked around a little bit and looked at my new dresser and bed. I mean everything was beautiful, I loved it. The double closets, the window with a view of the pool and jacuzzi, and even my own bathroom.

"So how do you like it." I jumped a little as my mom appeared in my doorway. "I love it." I smiled approaching her. "Here, start putting everything in your drawers. Me and your father are gonna run to the store to pick up groceries for the week." I walked over to the bed and plopped down my heavy suitcase. Why did I have so many god damn clothes. "Okay, I might take a walk and explore the neighborhood. I shouldn't be back late." I smiled as my mom kissed me on the cheek. "I know this is hard, you know moving here and not knowing anyone or any place to go. I'm sure you'll find friends soon." She walked out of my room leaving me in my own silence. Man I hoped I found friends soon. Moving into a new school was not going to be easy either. Going into Junior year, I never thought I would have to start over. It's like being a freshman all over again, except everyone knows each other, and I know nobody.

I grabbed my phone and closed my bedroom door behind me. I barely unpacked anything but I was already tired of it. Packing was bad, but I didn't think unpacking would be worse. "I'm headed out" I yelled to a surprisingly empty house. My parents must have already left for the grocery store. As I walked out of the house, I noticed their car was gone. "Well, here we go." I took a deep breath as I descended down the long driveway and onto the long windy road.
