Love Among Thy Clouds

Chapter 1: A First For Everything

    The buzzing of an old alarm clock echos thru the small dorm at Golden Gate University. Dorm number 302. There lives two young girls. Aileen Cross, age 20, junior. Her best friend from 3rd grade, Piper Smith, age 21, junior. The girls both hear the alarm clock and groan as the alarm indicates they have to get up to go to another 3 hour lecture. Soon Aileen stands from her bunk and turns off the alarm and pulls the curtains back revealing bright sunlight engulfs the room.

   "Aileen you brat close the curtains...the light." Piper grumbled.

    Aileen giggled and walked to the shower, the hot water soon steaming up the mirrors. Aileen was a very quite individual. She always has her nose in a book or studying till shes blue in the face. Aileen didn't party, she didn't drink alcohol, she didn't do drugs, she was taught not to do those things. She had her books and notes and she was happy with that, but Aileen had a fascination with Greek gods and mythology. Greek books over flowed her book case. Aileen loved how the gods and goddesses all had a purpose. Like Zeus was the god of the gods, the headmaster, Athena was the goddess of war, Hades god of the underworld. It Made Aileen wonder how the Greeks thought this was real, but the stories and legends were so delightful in creativity. 

   Aileen took her shower very quickly and was soon wrapped in a tan towel and a matching smaller towel wrapped around her long brown hair. Aileen's green eyes were a little puffy from the hot water. Piper was up now and waiting to get in the shower she smiled and playfully smacked her best-friends butt and giggled closing the bathroom door. Aileen giggled and soon found some blue skinny jeans and a pink blouse with a small floral design and got dressed, brushed her damp hair putting it in a pony tail. Aileen soon sat on the couch legs tucked under her and she put on her reading glasses and continued reading a book she found in the library. 

  "Gods and Demigods among us" Aileen read aloud softly as she opened it to her book mark and began reading. She read how gods can take human form and fall in love with humans. how they can have children who share the characteristic of a god and a human. Aileen giggled in amusement. She soon closed her book seeing piper dressed and finishing a book report that Piper had 2 weeks to do. 

  "Piper... You procrastinate everything." Aileen smiled and grabbed her bag with her report and some notebooks for today's lecture. 

   Both Piper and Aileen wore matching converse shoes. Something they have done since they were little. They had their things and soon left the dorm room to go to the lecture hall. Aileen and Piper walked down the stairs and across the court yard. Piper began complaining about her headache from her hang over and Aileen walked and looked at Piper as she held her head in agony. Then when Aileen looked forwards. BAM! Aileen had ran into someone and dropped her bag her papers and notebooks sprawling all over the ground. With Aileen's luck her report fell straight into a water puddle from the night before's rain storm. This made Aileen infuriated. 

   "HEY! Watch where your going! Jack Ass! the report was due today! why do you look down when you walk anyway!?" Aileen's face was flushed red in anger as she tried to pick up the reports but the soaked paper fell apart in her finger tips. She then growled and stood up only to meet a very tall man about 6'3, a soft tan complexion, brown hair, and very bright electric blue eyes which were wide from Aileen's outburst. 

   "I'm so sorry Mad'am. I'm new to Golden Gate and I was looking at my schedule.  I'm deeply sorry. The report... I'm so sorry this has happened..." the man said as he picked up non-ruined papers and held them out to Aileen. He began shuffling back and forth on his feet. 

   "Shut up... I'm so done with the people at this school.." Aileen hissed as she snatched the papers from his hand and walked off. Piper and the man exchanged glances. 

   "Sorry Dude... She's definitely a character..." Piper gently tapped his shoulder and ran off after Aileen, leaving the young man alone and confused.

      Not even five minutes pass and the bell rings and lecture begins. Piper sits a few rows above Aileen. Piper watches Aileen try to scribble down a new report. As wells as write notes from today's lecture. So far the class has a chapter test Friday and another report on a Greek mythology legends. Well at least it will be easy for Aileen. Piper leans on her hand taking notes before someone tries to open the door but it is locked. the professor stops talking and sighs and walks to the door opening it. The whole class looked to the door. Aileen's head hit the desk. Professor talked softly to the student and made the new student walk to the front of the class. 

  "introduce yourself.." the professor said. 

   Aileen looked up and mumbled "Just my Luck". The same boy she ran into to was at the front of the class. The boy looked around and smiled soft. 

"My name is Luke. Luke Crones." he said soft and waved. Everyone said their greetings and was very friendly to Luke. Piper soon looked around the room to see only one available seat. 

 "Ms. Cross please raise your hand?" the professor asked. Aileen rose her hand slightly. Luke met eyes with Aileen and he kinda made a soft "Oh God" look and walked slowly to the seat. he placed his bag on the desk and began sitting down. Aileen then kicked the chair from under him so he fell to the ground. The class kinda snickered and laughed. Aileen glared as Luke rubbed his head and pulled the seat back and sat down. Aileen ignored him for the whole class he kept saying he was sorry or questions about the professor or the class. Aileen ignored all his questions. Two agonizing hours later the lecture was over and the bell rung. the students filed out placing the report on the professor's desk. Aileen luckily wrote another quick report and was about to walk out the door with Piper till she was stopped by Luke. 

" Ms.Cross...? I'm very sorry. We got off on the wrong foot I'm Luke." He Held out his hand for Aileen to shake but she never shook his hand. " I've never seen someone reject a handshake..." he mumbled. 

 " Well there is a first for everything..." Aileen spat angrily and walked away like she did earlier this morning. Piper soon tagged behind. 

"Wow..." Luke sighed
