"Please at least try to help Cal. You know I can't do this all on my own. Your fathers not here yet and I've already done at least half of the boxes." I'm looking around the house listening to my mum complain. Not how I pictured moving here in the first place. I thought we would be unpacking with some jams on or something, but I guess not.

I mean, who could just start unpacking straight away when there's a house to be explored? The house is beautiful; absolutely stunning.

It's a two story house up in beaumond heights, Toronto. We moved all the way from Australia because my dad got offered a job over here. My mum and I agreed that it would be nice for my dad and the rest of the family to try something new. Also, I wasn't very popular at my former High School.

I loved it over here. Like, what the hell its so nice and green. The whether is always perfect, but not as perfect as Sydney, Australia. That's where home will always be.

"Um yeah sure I just-" I'm interrupted when a car finally pulls in to the driveway and my mum drops whatever she has in her hands and goes to hug my dad when the door creaks open. "David honey!" Their lips come forward in a loving embrace and I turn the opposite way, clearing the image from my head. "Alrighty then!"

"Hi hun." He kisses her back. "What are you guys up to?" His eyes trail to all the boxes on the floor. It's a puzzle waiting for his brain to solve.

"Right....Well then-" he marches right out where he came from, but my mum pulls him back inside laughing.

"Oh no you're not. You're going to help us unpack or so god help me." She states. I can't hold back my laughter and they look at me strange. I just shrug and make a run for it. "Calum Thomas Hood! Get your little bum back here right now!" My mum yells after me like she's yelling at a baby. Well..

Soon, we're all laughing and chasing each other around the house. "Calum! Be careful of the boxes, some have glass in them!" She tries to keep up, but I jump over them like the ninja I am and kept goin.

"Okay okay okay! You don't have to help Cal! Stop running." She slows down and is panting for breath.

"Thanks mum. I'm gonna go to my room if you don't mind." I start to make my way upstairs to find a room but my mum calls me back.

I peek my head around the corner, "yes?" I cross my arms over my chest and fully step out to see her.

"I said you didn't have to help but I really want you to-"

"But mum, you said I didn't have to do anything." I jut my lower lip out in a pout and furrow my eyebrows.

"I did not say that. Now listen." She raises her eyebrows and puts her hand on her hips. "We just moved in to another home, and I don't want you getting lonely, so-"

Please please don't say what I think you're gonna say. I cross my fingers.

"I want you to go out and make some friends til we're done packing." She finishes.

What. Nooooo. "What?! Mum! I just wanna go to my room and play Fifa." I mumble. "After I set it up."

My mum sighs, "There's a huge park just around the corner, where I saw a lot of kids that look about your age. Now go." She jerks her chin towards the open door and walks back to the messily taped boxes.
