I wasn't ready for school. The long summer was dragged on and now here I was having to get up for my long first day.
Knock. Knock. My door opened slowly.
" Good morning sweetie, are you getting ready?" My mom asked.
I stared at my mother bluntly. She always seemed to make everything perfect. I simply nodded my head and started to get dressed.

We drove to the school in silence. I wasn't the talking type. As we pulled to the building with high steps my mother tried to make small talk but I quickly dissed it off. The car came to a stop. I went to open my door, she tugged at my arm.
" Make lots of friends today sweetie. First impressions are always the best," she said almost as sweet as a chocolate cake.
She smiled sweetly at me. I rolled my eyes and hopped out of the car, eager to escape from her "perfect world" as quickly as possible. I watched the car slowly pull forward and make its way down the street. I watched until it disappeared.
I turned toward the tall building. It looked more like a middle aged castle for vampires rather than a high school. I made my way up the long depressing steps. Little did I know, that this school was going to be the best change in my life. Well one of them at least.
