"Ok Mr. Violet, would you like some tea?", the little girl sat on the floor and played with the stuffed bear, trying to make it drink from the plastic cup.
"What are we going to do about her?", said Beatrice, Iris's mother.
"I'm not sure, maybe go to the doctor?", responded Theo, Iris's father, "We're acting like our daughter is crazy, all kids have imaginary friends"
"You're right..."
There was a slight pause between both of the parents.
"But how does that explain that whenever she looks at me she keeps saying pink and red. The last time I checked I'm not sunburnt."
Theo nodded while both stood at the door and watched their daughter. Recently they noticed that Iris always yelled colors when she saw someone. At first, they didn't care much about it, but Beatrice is worried something is wrong with their daughter.

"Calm down Bea, it's probably nothing", said Theo.
"Don't tell me to calm down when our daughter is getting multiple tests", responded Beatrice agitated.
Theo just watched his wife pace around the small waiting room while they waiting for their daughter's test results to come back. They had decided to take Iris to the local pediatric clinic to see if she is okay.
The doctor enters. Shuffling with the lab reports and finally looks up and smiles.
"There's nothing to worry about, your daughter is completely fine. She just has been experiencing a mild case of synesthesia", responded the doctor.
Both parents looked at each other and asked, "What's synesthesia? Is it something to be concerned about?"
"Of course not, it's a condition in which one type of stimulation evokes the sensation of another when she experiences colors instead of pain, taste with shapes. In your daughter's case, she associates colors with everyone she meets. Mentally she can see a distinct collection of colors" said the doctor.
Beatrice turns to look at Iris. Iris waves happily.
"Thank goodness it's not anything painful towards her," said Theo, picking up Iris.
"I recommend that she goes to see Doctor William Cyrus, every now and then towards the future." said the doctor, holding a piece of paper with the number and address.
