Misunderstanding Part Two

"Sam! I know you love Harlem but you need to realise that i'm sleep deprived and cranky." You groaned, leaning back on your chair.

"Maybe you're sleep deprived and cranky because you're to focused on whatever you're working on that's negatively affecting you right now." Sam explained, a tiny frown on his forehead.

"Y-you don't understand....This is important. This could lead to a new scientific discovery or perhaps unlock a new section of technological advancement in our society!" You exclaimed, throwing your hands in the air in frustration.

"Now i know what you mean by cranky..." He muttered quietly, idly tracing the intricate details of the table with his finger. The phone in your pocket vibrated as you clumsily shove your hands into your pockets to answer it.

"Hello?"

"Y/N! I just found something that you might need to see with the sample." A voice spoke quickly at the end of the speaker.

"Alright.. Tony, i'm coming to check it out and whatever you do, do not disrupt it okay?"

"Copy that." You hung up, quickly putting your phone back into your pocket. Swiftly, you got out of your chair, heading off to the exit of the coffee shop. Sam gave you a confused expression before following you out the door.

"Who was that? What happened?"

"Tony. We might of found something." You replied, hastily.

"Y/N. You need-"

"Sam! This is important. You just need to put your trust in me." You cut him off, quickly making your way towards the Avengers tower.

In the distance, you could make out Tony sitting on one of the benches, swirling a flask of liquid. Instantly, you ran towards your lab slamming the front door open. "Tony! Put that solution down right now!" You ordered, Tony immediately abiding your command, setting the flask down on the bench near him.

"I didn't do anything." Tony quickly spoke, his hands behind his back. You shook your head at his childishness, collecting your notes from your desk and heading towards the microscopes.

"So tell me Tony, what did you find?" You asked, sitting down on a chair and skimming through your notes.

"You won't even believe it, Y/N... Look i'll just have to show it to you." Tony made his way to a table with beakers and flasks that were scattered everywhere. Figuring you should of scolded Tony on his messy work environment, you held back your comment, instead focusing on your monumental discovery. You gave Tony one last perplexed look before looking into the microscope.

"I don't see anything apart from a cell which i already studied about a week ago. What are trying to say?" You asked, confused. Tony smirked, handing you a pipette with a dull, yellow liquid inside.

"Add a bit onto the cell and see what happens next."

You added a drop of the mysterious solution into the petri dish, checking the microscope for any peculiar observations. With a frown, you noticed something unique with the sample.

"Hey Tony... Is this what i think it is?"

"Sure is. This could lead to a new-"

"Scientific discovery." You finished off, looking back at Tony with your eyes wide open and mouth agape.

"What did you put in there, Tony?" You asked, holding up the pipette. Tony smirked, taking it off you.

"Poison." He answered confidently. "I tried every single liquid i could find in your lab and you should really see what the results of them were." Tony added, sprinting off to the storeroom possibly grabbing a few things.
