Several thousand years ago, God lost faith in the world and sent a great flood to destroy evil, leaving one family to repopulate the earth. However, God graced man with free will, the ability to think about right and wrong; and so evil rose again. God sent his angels to Earth with the task of find men and women of many different lifestyles, and bring their souls to heaven by the means of their dreams. Through their dreams, these men and women were trained and taught all about God and his works, though when these people were finished training, they lost all conscious memory of it but their subconscious still remembered.
These women and men created children; the women were visited by angels in the forms of their husbands, and the men found women who they thought were suitable, and these men were gifted by the angels. Each child grew up to be among the smartest of those around them, the most gifted speakers of tongue and listeners. These children grew up to be the prophets of their time: David, Abraham, Isaiah, John the Baptist, Samuel…all children of angels. God saw this, that his angels knew women but stayed pure, and learned to love greater, and saw that it was good. The women, whom were loved greatly by the angels, when passed from their earthly being, were allowed in heaven to be the consorts of the angels. Each time that God saw a dark age coming, a prophet was born. The two archangels known to man, Michael and Gabriel, have not yet participated in the knowing. However, God sees a new dark age coming, new prophets are needed, and it may be time for the archangels to be known to women.

Sarelle ran out into the living room to hug her father and stepmother goodnight and blow them a kiss before she went to bed. She was excited, because lately she had been having dreams about heaven, and an angel had told her that she would go back tonight. Sarelle jumped into her bed and closed her eyes, breathing in and out slowly so that she would drift to sleep faster. Sarelle opened her eyes on the floor of the great hall and smiled. It was getting easier to find the pathway here. The angel Lassiter smiled down at her.
“Hello Sarelle. Go join the other children, and remember to avoid the angels, they may not see you.”
Sarelle jumped up and started to run through the hallways, weaving in and out of the pathways of angels. She turned the corner and slowed to a walk, quietly coming into the room with the other children. She sat next down to Michale, a quiet boy who was really good with languages and making other people feel comfortable. He was going to be a father to a prophet and a teacher, of course that was many, many years in the future. Sarelle giggled to herself. She couldn’t even imagine being a mother. One of their teachers, the prophet David, walked into the room smiling like always.
“All right children today we are going to be researching the world. All the different regions from each part of the world and how they are similar and different, and why they are wrong or right.” All the children looked at him.
“Yes, why they are wrong or right. Each religion has a basis in the true religion. Any part of humanity is the ability to make choices. Part of raising a prophet is to be able to teach them to understand the world they live in. Now, go to the library and start researching. Come on now, lets go.”
Sarelle got up, helped Michale up and they walked to the library together. She said goodbye and left him at the door and scurried over to the ancient’s section. Logically, Sarelle thought, understanding religion would be best if one started at the beginning. Sarelle walked around a corner, somehow tripped over her own shoe and fell flat on her face. Her face and arms burned red in humiliation as she tried to get back up, a pair of arms from behind her picked her up under her arms and set her back on her feet. A deep, laughing voice startled her.
“Goodness child, watch where you are going. Heaven apparently can’t protect the unwary klutzes.”
Sarelle turned around shamefacedly to give the angel (who else would have a deep voice in heaven) her explaination. However, the laughing stopped when she turned. She looked up into the face of an archangel. Wings, darker in color than the lower angels, spanned his back, and a peach browned face, blonde hair and blue eyes stared back at her. Sarelle looked over herself to make sure nothing was out of place for the angel to have that look.
“I’m sorry archangel?...” “Michael”, he recovered quickly. “Archangel Michael child. Now what are you doing back here?”
“Researching for the angel Lassiter on the origins of the religions.”
Michael frowned. “It is almost time for the sun to lighten the world and you to wake up little one. Shouldn’t you be back in the great room for Lassiter to guide you back?”
Sarelle smiled proudly, happy that she could redeem herself. “I need no guide. I can find my way here and back by myself, so I stay longer until I have to be woken up.” Michael looked astonished.
“Well then, what a remarkable feat. Very well, I will let you continue,” and he walked away. Taught not to mind the oddities of angels, Sarelle walked down the book aisle. Finding the book she wanted, she pulled a piece of paper out of her pocket and marked it, walked some more and marked another one. Placing the book back on the shelf, she closed her eyes and vanished. Michael, standing on the balcony above, watched this all.
“Well” a deep and darker voice behind him, “standing around watching the humans are we? Not thinking of pursing her are you Michael?”
“Gabriel. No and yes. She is still very young for a human, a child. And have you no thought of what it would be like to lie with one?” Gabriel’s voice became offended.
“No! to want is to be unhappy with what He has given us, that which I certainly am not.” Michael turned.
“Ever careful to please?”
“No, ever careful not to make a mistake. I worry about you Michael. Though, the child certainly was beautiful…” Gabriel left on that note and Michael turned back towards the library, seemingly searching for an answer. When Sarelle woke up in her bed she ran to her mirror to see if anything was out of place on her face. All she could see was herself. Brown hair, red if caught in the sunlight, pale skin with freckles everywhere, and her eyes which some people said were beautiful. Gray outline, with a green and yellow center and a brown spot in them. She could see nothing, so she went and got dressed.
