Cayenne's Story

Welcome to the world of Hydretchia, where animals, humans, and fairies alike live. Usually each kind would try not to mingle with the other kinds. However when they do mingle, it would usually be short and formal. They do this so that accidents don't happen; accidents like me. That brings us to another kind: the Mixed. That is what I am. My name is Cayenne; it's a rather strange name if you ask me, being it a chili pepper, but my mother thought it sounded nice. My mother is a deer and my father, a fairy. That is how I am mixed. I had a younger sister as well, had. Until some humans came along and thought that my mother would look cool in their new taxidermy museum. My father died trying to save her. And then the humans saw my sister and thought that she would look cool in their museum too. Where was I this whole time? I was under the table, to terrified to move. I was eight at the time when I saw my whole family massacred in front of me. Ever since then, I have been living on my own. I have hidden that I am Mixed with a cloak I wear; it covers my ears and makes me look normal like everyone else. It wasn't until a bit later that a new hate had grown for us Mixed kinds. Ever since then, Mixed have been hunted down and killed on the spot, and I went into hiding. It wasn't until then that I met Andy.
