That six letter word. You've probably heard of it. Everyone in my family definitely has.
When the doctors first uttered it, my life changed forever. Well, what was left of it. I wanted to be a writer. I was planning on it to be fiction. But things never go to plan. So I decided to write my experience.
But even now, I still sometimes find myself writing that six letter word over and over.
Cancer.
Six is Gale Hart's lucky number. She has six siblings, has had six best friends, and was diagnosed with cancer 6 months ago. The six letter word.
It's hard enough to be a normal 15-year-old. Add having a life-threatening illness, and life is an uphill climb, as she struggles to accept the future.
But Gale is determined to not go out without a fight. So is her closest sibling, Gale's twin sister, Xanthe.
When Gale meets the rebellious eighteen-year-old Mia facing the same fate as her, she realizes that there's more to Mia than what meets the eye.
Cheer, laugh, and cry, as Gale faces a future no one should ever face.
