"But momma!" I exclaimed "No buts! You will go put those nice clothes on and you will be happy doing it! Me and your daddy were forced to be married and we love each other, your our proof. Now go!"

I walked up the stairs mad as hell, I don't want to get married! Especially not an arranged marriage!   But what the hell, I might as well do what momma says to do, it never ends pretty the other way.

Me and momma bought the prettiest dress, it was black and white and had off the shoulder long sleeves and black heels with my hair curled in a half up half down style. When I came down stairs Daddy took one look at me and his jaw dropped he could always make me feel pretty with just one look. "Well look at my little princess!" Daddy said "Let's go meet my son-in-law

I"m meeting my wife in less than 20 minutes, I thought as I straighten my tie. Her name's Maya and she sounds beautiful. Even though my momma and dad didn't have an arranged marriage her parents did and they love each other. I hope we can learn to do the same.

"Lucas! Hurry up! We have to go meet my daughter in law!"yelled my momma "I'm coming"

In the car George Strait came on and he sang 'Check Yes Or No' My parents claimed it was their song so we all, horribly, sang along

It started way back in third grade
I used to sit beside Emmylou Hayes
A pink dress, a matching bow, and her ponytail
She kissed me on the school bus but told me not to tell
Next day I chased her around the playground
Cross the monkey bars to the merry-go-round

And Emmylou got caught passing me a note
Before the teacher took it I read what she wrote

Do you love me do you want to be my friend
And if you do
Well then don't be afraid to take me by the hand
If you want to
I think this is how love goes

Check yes or no

Now we're grown up and she's my wife
Still like two kids with stars in our eyes
Not much has changed I still chase Emmylou
Up and down the hall around the bed in our room

Last night I took her out in a white limousine
Twenty years together she still gets to me

Can't believe it's been that long ago
When we got started with just a little note

Do you love me do you want to be my friend
And if you do

Well then don't be afraid to take me by the hand
If you want to

I think this is how love goes
Check yes or no

"Oh my Lord! We're here! I finally get to meet my daughter-in-law! Lucas aren't you so exited!"Momma nearly squealed. "I am Momma." I said without lie. "Just beyond that door is your wife, are you ready?"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The car drive was only about 5 minutes but that didn't matter to my family. The radio was on country, rain, snow, sleet or hail, day in and day out country is what we listen to. When we turned it on Randy Travis was singing 'Forever and Ever, Amen' so we all sang, quite well, to it.

You may think that I'm talkin' foolish
You've heard that I'm wild and I'm free
You may wonder how, I can promise you now
This love that I feel for you always will be

But you're not just time that I'm killin'
I'm no longer one of those guys
As sure as I live, this love that I give
Is gonna be yours until the day that I die

Oh, baby! I'm gonna love you forever, forever and ever, Amen!
As long as old men sit n' talk about the weather

As long as old women sit n' talk about old men
If you wonder how long I'll be faithful

I'll be happy to tell you again
I'm gonna love you forever and ever, forever and ever, Amen!

They say that time takes it's toll on a body
Makes a young girl's brown hair turn gray
But, honey, I don't care, I ain't in love with your hair

And if it all fell out, well, I'd love you anyway

They say time can play tricks on a memory
Make people forget things they knew
Well, it's easy to see, it's happenin' to me
I've already forgotten every woman but you

Oh, darlin'! I'm gonna love you forever, forever and ever, Amen!
As long as old men sit n' talk about the weather
As long as old women sit n' talk about old men
If you wonder how long I'll be faithful
Well, just listen to how this song ends
I'm gonna love you forever and ever, forever and ever, Amen!

I'm gonna love you forever and ever, forever and ever
Forever and ever, forever and ever, Amen!

"Behind that door is your husband, are you ready?

Hey y'all! I know that Maya isn't country but I came back to my roots on this on and used two of my favorite songs with it. Down here it doesn't matter if you 5 or 85 you call your mom momma and if your a girl you call your dad daddy. Anyway I know this chapter isn't the best but the next one will be better I promise!
