Chapter 18- First Mistakes For First Date

Start from the beginning

"Ah right so you started to chat to me because I was a blonde?" I asked innocently as I stared at the menu in my hands. I couldn't focus on any words so I simply pretended like I was reading.

"Honestly no, it was the part you liked fairy tales."

I whipped my head up to look at him as my face heated up in discomfiture. Is he hinting that I was not attractive enough for him to chat to me? I tried to ignore the voice in my head and continued with the conversation. "Are you honestly going to start a discussion that how can I believe in fairy tales?" I asked as I raised an eyebrow.

He raised his hands in a surrender manner "I did not say that."

I looked at him with a small smile "Good."

At that moment the waiter came to take the order. I didn't have a chance to calm my heart down and focus on the damn menu, so I quickly ordered the first thing I saw on the list. After the waiter walked away Chris looked at me with his intense brown eyes and spoke "So what made you make a dating profile?"

"Oh my mother and my best-friend." I answered simply.

He stared at me with a puzzled look which made him look adorable I couldn't help but giggle at his expression. "Long story short, my mother and best-friend thought I need to start dating so they made a profile without my permission and I had to endure the torture of chatting to desperate idiots online." As soon as I said the last sentence I realised what I said. He raised his eyebrow at me with no readable expression so I didn't know if he was annoyed, upset or shocked with my remark. I really needed to make this right so I opened my mouth and the words flowed from my tongue without thinking what I was saying. " I-I didn't mean that you are desperate idiot online but honestly there are desperate people online who just prey on innocent people and think they won a lottery or something but honestly they maybe just scored some action for the night or maybe a date, I mean come on talk about being desperate." I chuckled at my response when I notice I made the whole incident worse so I tried to rectify it .I looked down at the table feeling really nervous thinking I messed everything up. "I-I mean I'm n-not referring you when I said about the date. what I am trying to say is...." I just didn't know what to say to make this better so I slowly shut up without finishing my sentence.

This was my first official mistake .

I really didn't wanted to look up and see the expression on his face which would make this situation worse, okay nothing could be worse than what I said. I then heard his laughter, I looked up at Chris he pounded the table with his fist as he roared with laughter, I looked around to see everyone had their eyes on us. Once he calmed down and wiped his tear away from his eye, he gave me a wide smile "I haven't laughed like that for years. You should have seen your expression as you tried to rectify the situation with your poor speech." He chuckled at my expense.

I narrowed my eyes at him, "At least I tried to mend the situation."

The waiter then came with our food. As the waiter placed our food on the table, I couldn't help but think that mistake number two was on its way I just had a feeling in the pit of my stomach. The smell of the food reached my stomach which caused my stomach to rumble I didn't even know I was famished. Chris chuckled "Eat up."

You would think that was mistake number two me embarrassing myself with my stupid growling stomach, but your wrong.

After few bites of my tasty chicken parmesan, "Do you still work as a personal assistant?" I asked.

"Erm yeah." He answered. "What about you Lisa, you still working as a sexy waitress." I don't know what caused me to choke, was it him calling me Lisa or sexy waitress, I wasn't sure as I took the glass of water from Chris and gulped the water down.
