A Night To Remember

Chapter one: Beer a remedy for hate

The bell rang. Sophomore Frank Gid ran out of the school. He had around 100 days of no school. Which was good seeing as he had no friends and hated learning.

As he got on the bus he thought about how much fun out in the wilderness he and his family would have. It was 3 p.m.

The bus came to his stop. A lonely house sorrounded by a huge forest. He walked in through the door. His dad was waiting for him.

"Mom already left?" Asked Frank.

"Yeah. Big buissness trips for her, which means my guys are here to play poker." His dad said.

Frank took a step back. His mom had banned poker nights because they always drank to much. Last time his dad was arrested and that was the final straw

"Are they here yet?" Asked Frank.

"Yeah their in the kitchen." Said his dad sheepishly and led him there. Frank hated all of them.

George always was spitting on his hand and then rubbing his face with the spit or was picking his nose and eating the buried treusure when he thought no one was watching.

Howard was a somoker who had started multiple fires by leaving them on carpeting. Also whenever he talked ash fell out of his mouth which Frank took as a sign that he was usually drunk and put both sides into his mouth.

And Chad or as Frank liked to call him Chad the Cheat. He had glasses that could see the little markings that he left on the deck that he always brought. Frank knew this because Everyone went to grab a beer once about a year ago and Chad left his glasses on the table eonderimg how he always won. And put them on and saw the marks. Whenever he told his dad this he said Chad is a honest man with incredible luck.

"Why don't you go to your room?" His dad asked polietly. It was 3:30. Frank went to his room and took off his watch. He took his phome out and looked at the posts on instagram and snapchat.

After 25 munutes of that he remembered the hike. He rushed to tell his dad.

"Dad remember the hike that you promised."

"Yeah." Said his dads voice thick and slurred. He saw five bottles of beer at his feet and he was halfway through his sixth. "But I changed my mind." His friends all laughed.

"You made the family rule that you can't go back on a promise."

"Well now I make the rule that you can."

Some part of Frank told him to let it go, but he couldn't. "You made the rule that rules take 24 hours to change."

"Does look like a game to you boy." His dad said standing up. His legs were shaking a little. He punched Frank.

Frank reeled backwards. And his dad was on him. Picking him up by the collar. He yelled "If you like the wilderness so much why don't you stay in it for 12 hours! See you at 4 a.m!" Frank was thrown out of the house he ran up to it.m as it slammed in his face. Then he heard the lock click into place.
