A deeper shade of green covers my face. "Well as if you guys aren't like that."
Garnet smiles and walks up to me. "Your sarcasm won't help you now. Let us help you."
Amethyst laughs. "Yeah give us a chance, will ya?"
Pearl smiles. "Well before we begin, let's have dinner. It's almost night, so Lapis would probably be back soon."
Amethyst smirks. "Well we could always leave Peridot to have a date with her~!!!"
The door opens slowly. "... Hi"
Lapis's POV
Peridot instantly looks away and Steven smiles. "Hiii Lapis!! Wait.. What happened to you?"
I finally defeated Jasper without getting killed. I would never have forgiven her for hurting my precious Peridot.
~ le flash back~
"LAZULI!!" She runs in the barn and hides behind me.
"What?! What happened to you?! You're beat up.."
She holds onto me tightly and starts to silently cry. She's trembling. Something bad must've happened. "It's J-Jasper.. Don't tell her I told you! Since I don't have a death wish.."
Jasper?! Jeez she won't leave anyone alone anymore! Always 'let's fight this and let's beat up that'! I'm sick of it! And now that she hurt my precious Peri.. She's going to get it. I'm going to smash her stupid orange gem into pieces. Not even pieces. I'll destroy it until I cant see the little pieces of it.
I hug her and tell her everything will be okay. Eventually I got the chance to sneak out after she confessed..
~ back to le present ~
Of course I have lots of bruises and cuts so I should probably go. I turn around and walk back outside, pretending not to see my adorable little Peri. I hear footsteps.. Oh no. "WAIT! LAZULI!"
I stopped. I can't look at her. How am I going to explain a fight?
"You've been ignoring me Lazuli! Did I do something? And what happened to you? You're all bruised!"
I look at her, feeling a bit guilty, and whisper. ".. No. It's just.."
"Well tell me about it! If I'm your friend then at least tell me what's been going on!"
"Wait.. Friend? I thought you asked me to date you."
Her gem begins to glow a bit and her eyes widen.. It's so cute. I can't help but smile.
".. And?! Is that why you've been ignoring me?! To just wait so I forget the question?!"
I get close to the gem and put my hands on her soft shoulders. We've never been this close before.. "Peridot. I said yes. Were you listening?"
"Uuuuuuuuuuh.. Really?" she nervously laughs. I sigh and smile.
"But that doesn't answer my question. Where were you? What happened?"
I hesitate. Well.. I guess I have to tell her. It was for her, so I guess she deserves to know. "I.. I was just.. Fighting."
"Fighting?!" Her adorable face is glowing.. So adorable..
"Against Jasper. She hurt you. I knew I had to do something when you said she was abusing you while you were still at Homeland."
"No no no! It wasn't that big of a deal!"
"Yes it was."
While she was panicking, I see the other gems and Steven watching. I cover us with my wings.
"You're hurt because of me! Is your gem broken? I was so worried you have no idea-"
I cut her off by kissing her. I hope she doesn't get mad at me.
Peridot's POV
OH MY GOSH!! OH MY GOSH!! AHHHHHHH!!! What do I do?! WHAT DO I DO?!? THIS IS CRAZY!
.. But it's nice though. My gem is probably shining since it's almost dark.
We separate and I look around nervously. I can't really see anyone.. Since the wings are in the way. It's a bit blurry. Great. Now I don't know if Pearl or Amethyst was stalking us.
"U-Uhhh.." I look back at my beautiful Lapis.. Her eyes begin to sparkle as she laughs.
Lapis's POV
I can't help it but laugh. She's too cute.
"Y-You're okay though.. Right?" She starts touching the bruise on my arm. I wince.
"Oh.. S-Sorry..!"
"It's fine.. As long as you're okay. Thanks for worrying though."
"It's only because I love you..." She looks away and I start to blush.
Peridot's POV
WHAT THE HECK AM I SAYING?! Either I'm crazy or it's true!!
... Okay I admit. It's both.
DONT JUDGE ME!!
I look away. I can't look at her. That's it. I've dug my own grave. The first day we finally meet again is when I mess it up. With an 'I love you'. I'M SO CLICHE!!!
"... I love you too." She smiles warmly.
... WAIT.. Never mind.
I grab her hand and smile like the happiest person on earth.. Or homeland.. Or anywhere in existence.
"Hey Lapis and Peridot!" Steven runs toward us. Of course, he was there before watching with everyone else, and we both saw him, but we pretended we didn't even know.
"Hey!" We both say in unison.
"So.. Dinner's ready so do you wanna come in and eat?"
"Sure."
"Oh.. Okay!!" He laughs and runs back to the house.
This didn't turn out how I fantasized but it's sweet and just.. Surprising that she fought Jasper for me. Lapis holds my hand and walks to the house. I follow her and smile. I hope I'll be able to protect her like how she protects me some day..
