Secret White Lies

Chapter 1

You know it really quiet in the night if you lay awake there staring at ceiling, and then I heard my door creek open, pretty much a scene from a horror movie.

"Didn't fall asleep yet Lucy?" Nate's voice came as he stood near the door frame.

"Nope" I said sighing and staring at him, yep that's my brother Nathaniel Richards such a great 19 year old brother who thinks it was normal to casually walk into his younger sibling's room at almost midnight and find it not creepy at all.

"Guess I'll stay with you for a while" he muttered and walked over to my bed "Scoot over Lu" he said as he climbed into my bed.

I did as I was told and snuggled into my brothers' arms as he has a nice warm body, don't judge, it was pretty cold outside and my brother was wearing a sweater, a much better choice to sleep in than in tank top and shorts.

"You know I am going miss seeing you being an annoying ass" He muttered almost as if speaking to himself yet it like he was telling me at the same time.

"That's nice to hear but I'm pretty sure you'll take that back once you reach college" I answered yawning.

"Maybe" he said looking at me "Or maybe you'll miss me" he said in a smug voice.

"Oh definitely, I'll miss you" I said sarcastically.

"Aw, is my little baby girl gonna miss her big brother?" he used one of those annoying high pitched voices.

"You know it's going to be tough for me cause now, I have no excuses to escape from my friends and that gives one more reason for them to annoy me" I whined hitting his arm playfully.

"So Lucy.. are you even planning to enjoy your life outside a book? You know your 17 after all" he said playing with my fringes.

"Yeah I think I'll pass" I said "Ow, that hurt you jerk" I replied as he pulled my hair teasingly.

"You need to enjoy this year of your school and it will always be memorable, trust me...I'm your big bro after all... "the one who knows all"" He grinned, showing off his brilliant white teeth in the dark.

"Maybe... now go to sleep" I shushed him and snuggled into his arms so he won't look at me anymore.

Nate murmured something underneath his breath before cuddling me to sleep

Finally, after what felt like forever I drifted off to sleep.
