It is raining as I run through the crowds of New York City. I am soaked head to toe when I reach my destination, the public library. I must admit I am a total book geek. Going to the library makes me happier than anything, especially when i'm escaping into adult books rather than books for my age. I enter the library, making the bell on the door ring. I quickly walk to the adult fiction section and start searching through my choices.
Halfway through my search I notice a guy enter the same aisle as me. I decide to ignore him for awhile until I notice that he hasn't moved an inch. I slowly look over at him and notice he is staring directly at me. I quickly look back as my cheeks flush red. In the couple seconds that I have to see him, I notice one thing. He is attractive... like really attractive. He's a clean cut boy with no tattoos, which is hard to get around here in the city. His dark brown hair matched his eyes.
I feel him continue to stare at me, so I turn and start to walk down the aisle. He notices and quickly follows me. He reaches out his arm and grabs my wrist turning me around. I squeal softly, earning multiple glares from people around us. I try to yank my wrist back but he is too strong. I give up after a couple tries and let him drag me to some chairs in the back of the library. I sit down hesitantly.
"Hello." He says.
"Hi? Um, why did you drag me back here?" I ask.
"To get to know you." he shoots back.
"Do you this to all the girls?" I question.
"Only the pretty ones." he smirks.
I blush, but start a conversation anyway. We end up talking for hours and we don't realize it until the loud speakers announced closing time was in 10 minutes. I get up quickly and start to leave. I look back and smile, waving goodbye. He waves back and that's when I come to terms with the fact that I will most likely never see this guy again. I turn away and shake my head, realizing I never got his name.

I wake up the next morning to the buzzing of my alarm blaring in my ears. As soon as my feet hit the floor, I groan. I do not want to wake up. I walk over to my closet and get dressed in my usual attire. I walk to the bathroom to apply some light makeup and straighten my hair.
I then go downstairs to eat a "healthy" breakfast and head out to school.
-
"Hi Ms. Rosewood!" I say, as I walk into my AP World History class.
"Good Morning, Adelina! Go ahead and sit down. Class is going to start soon." She smiles at me.
I sit at my dreaded wooden desk and pull out a book to start reading.
All I can think about is how good my book is, I'm not really paying attention to anything anyone is saying until I hear, "We have a new student." I snap my head up to see Ms. Rosewood is rolling her eyes at the new kid standing at the front of the class.
My stomach drops and I can feel my heart in my throat. It can't be.
