Obstinate IwaOi Haikyuu Fanfiction

Our Current Situation - Ch. 1 -

"Iwa-chan which high school are you going to?" The "best setter" asked as he held up his award as they walked home.

"Why don't you wipe your face before you talk?" He planted a tissue onto Oikawa's face and dragged it across back and forth.

"Eh! St-Stop it!" Oikawa took the wet tissue and wiped his face. He looked at his moving feet, realizing now that they hurt. They had just lost their last middle school game against Ushijima for the third time. The two friends walked to their favorite convenience store while trying to cheer up.

"The question is where are you going? You've been scouted for Shiratorizawa right?" Iwaizumi picked up a blue ice cream and walked to the register. His parasite-like-friend rushed to his side.

"I can't go there... I mean, won't you miss me?"

"OF COURSE NOT!" Punching his childhood friend in the side, he thought to himself something he couldn't say aloud.

         Of course I would you idiot.

"Ow! Iwa-chan that hurt! Why are you so mean to me?"

"It's a love punch."

"Yeah right!" Oikawa stuck out his tongue and Iwaizumi crammed half of his ice cream into his mouth.

"Just eat and shut up. Trashykawa." The tempered ace was annoyed with the pretty boy, but his mind averted the thoughts of them separating schools. As they walked towards home, there was a silence broken by a broken-sounding voice.

"You would miss me right?" Hajime looked at the setter with surprise until Oikawa "fixed" his statement. "I mean Ushijima's going there! Like I would team up with him!"

"Ah, him, but you're so talented you could play there, then a good college will see your high school as the standing champions. They'll pick you up; seeing your skill you can play on the national team. Then-"

"Stop it Iwaizu- Iwa-chan! I don't want to go to Shiratorizawa!" Iwaizumi looked startled since Tooru never talks sternly towards him. "Anyway, which school are you going to? EH!"

"Don't change the topic!" A side kick to the stomach and Oikawa fell to the ground. "I'm just saying that your best shot at life is down that road!"

"Uhh... What's the point at getting a good shot at life if you don't have anyone to enjoy it with..." He got up to his feet with his friends assistance.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing, that important."

"Aoba Johsai. It's a good school and it's close to my house." He said the school's name, whether he admitted it or not, with a little bit of hope.

"That's, the school I was thinking of going to! We really are in sync! Now we can still walk to school together!"

"Tch, three more years of you?"

"Eh? You don't want me to go?" Oikawa sounded a little disappointed, "but I thought we were friends..."

"I never said that idiot." Iwaizumi grinned and continued to walk. "Looks like I just have to baby and take care of you like your mom for another three years."

"You don't baby me. I take care of myself fine!" The taller boy did his signature pose that excited many girls, a wink with his tongue stuck out.
