Levi

Levi Parks weaves his way through the crowded main square of the capital of Arigon, the planet that the crew had landed on earlier that morning. He had walked around the square once already in search of a mechanics booth and now he was doing it for the second time. Right now, his full concentration is being put towards what he needs to get for Calliope, the captain and mechanic for their ship. The last thing he wants to do is mess up.
Levi is often sent by his fellow travelers to do these type of errands because he is small and quick and usually can swipe a few wares from different booths while going unnoticed. Latley, the others haven't wanted him around as much. Rebel groups run by the Mutti's have been growing stronger and their attacks have become more frequent making the crew squeamish around Levi. It not as though Levi is part of these groups but being a Mutti does have its benefits.
Levi finishes his second lap around the square and let's out a small defeated sigh, there was only one mechanics booth. He would half to walk by the booth multiple times to get what Calliope needed. Or they could come down here and help for once. Levi immediately dismissed the thought, he knew that Rosa only let him tag along because she felt sorry for him.
Letting out another sigh, Levi pulled out his tagger and glanced down at the screen. He saw five yellow markers scattered not to far from each other and a blue one which was his own. He tapped Calliope's marker and her profile appeared on the screen. He scrolled until he found the image with the small phone and called her.
"What is it Levi?" Calliope asked, her voice tinged with annoyance.
"Uh, hi Calliope. So I just wanted to tell you that um..."
"Spit it out Levi, I don't have all day here."
"Well there's uh only one mechanic booth" Levi winced, waiting for the impeding explosion.
"Levi are you sure" she hissed.
"Um...yes?"
"Levington I don't have the time for your stupidity. We are in the capital city of one of the most prosperous planets in the galaxy and you are telling me that there is only ONE mechanic booth"
"Well I haven't looked everywhere yet, it's just that princess Rosa told me..."
"Does it sound like I care what Rosa told you? We'll be stuck on this god forsaken planet for longer than you could even imagine of you don't get me those parts"
Before he could answer, Levi heard a click signaling that the call had ended. Levi cursed under his breath in frustration and started walking again. He decided to take his chances with the one mechanic booth and hope that no one would notice him.

Rosa
Rosa Grant sits on the plush black chair in the common room of the Arc-597 and let's out a sigh. To her right and farther down the table, sits her since childhood friend Simone. Simone had wavy black hair, lightly tanned skin and startling green eyes. Her nose was small and her lips were full and she was the perfect height, not too tall and not too short. When they were at home, which was rare, her and Simone would go to the dances that were held for the teenagers. Rosa hated the dances and only ever went because Simone loved them. Rosa had a feeling that this was because all the boys paid attention to Simone when she went to the dances, and Simone loved attention.
"Calliope how are the repairs going?" Rosa called down the small hatch that was in the floor of the common room.
"Levi just called. He doesn't think he can get all the parts we need." Calliope answered. Rosa knows that Calliope is making an effort to keep her voice light, as if she didn't mind that Levi was unable to do what he was asked. Calliope may be the captain and mechanic but she knows that Rosa holds power over her and not to cross her.
"Rosa, why is that little rat still coming with us?" Simone whined.
"He has nowhere else to go Simone. Besides he's helpful."
"If you consider potentially getting us arrested helpful, then by all means let's keep him" Simone snaps.
Levi is a mutti, short for mutant, and Mutti's aren't alowwed to be with the humans. Not only will it get Rosa and the others arrested, Levi could also be executed. But Levi had decided to take his chances. Either he could stay on earth in the slums, or a labor camp or he could travel the galaxy with Rosa and her friends.
"Do you really think that Levi likes us Rosa? His kind are evil. They commit crimes and rebel against the hierarchy. I'd bet you anything that if he had a chance to sell us to a rebel group, then he wouldn't even think twice about doing it. And that's not even the word that could happen Rosa. What if your uncle found out? You know that he wouldn't let you away with breaking his biggest crime."
"Shall I open the latest news report of mutti rebel groups?" A robotic voice asks.
"No piper, we already know what happened" Rosa answers.
Just last week, mutti rebels kidnapped two hundred human babies and there had been no sign of them since. The rebels never killed, instead they would take human babies and toddlers. No one knew where the children were being taken. There were never any traces left by the mutti's and no bodies had ever been recovered. The children were just simply gone, and they had been disapeering for more than ten years.
Fifteen years ago, when the first mutti was discovered, king Tyven realized that the muttis were stronger than the humans. Mutti's senses were enhanced and they were known problem solvers. It wasn't long after the first Mutti appeared that many more came clean about their differences from humanity. For five years the Mutti's tried to throw Tyven off of his throne using their beauty, strength, and cleverness. Since then the king has grown paranoid and is on the brink of insanity.
That is why Rosa travels with her group of friends. She cannot stand being at the palace with her near insane uncle and her over confident brother, the crown prince. She would rather be traveling in the old beat up Arc-597 and seeing all the other planets that made more sense then her own.
Rosa let out another sigh and stood up.
"Where are you going?" Simone asked in a bitter tone.
"To see if Levi needs help getting parts"
"Absolutely useless." Simone mutters under her breath.
Rosa ignores her comment "if I'm not back in half an hour send someone Simone."
"Noted" Simone mumbles back, not looking away from the screen playing one of her favorite movies.
