[Emancipated]
You kept beating your
drums in my mind,
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Each time
Executing the peace inside
of my quiet head,
With your loud bursts of
sudden stress
Today I'm going to bang
my way out of this cage
That you trapped me in
when we were young in
love
For a new life is awaiting
me,
With sandy beaches
Palm trees
and tropical rhythms
So today I'm going to seek my
freedom
For the sky it shades my body,
When it tries to stretch its hands
to my rescue,
But you keep holding me down
And you're gone like the wind
And you're gone like the dinosaurs
And you're gone like our love
Into your new life
Leaving me heartless
When you stole my heart and
placed it inside the treasure chest
behind your bones,
With your stolen hearts and even
souls
And now I pay for each one of
your sins,
For I didn't know that you'd
chain my mind,
For I didn't know that you'd
continuously lie
So now I'm hurt and heartless
Paying for the sins that you left
and the crimes that you arrested
me for,
When you stole my heart and
placed it into a jar,
With your other stolen trophies
For you're the collector of hearts
So it's my fault, for I never saw
this coming,
For I was blind to your lies
For I was blind to your sins
And so today I open my eyes
after all this hurting
And also the cage that you
sentenced me to die in
For now I'm a prisoner that
knows the truth,
And so I'm emancipating
myself too
And like the waters at a beach
today I'll sway relentlessly
Like a lion who found his powers
and unlocked his mysteries
For you've stolen my heart,
But it regenerated overtime,
And so I say bye, bye, to my
depression.
