Hey guys this is my first book. I hope it's not as awful as I think it'll be. And I'll try to write as much as possible. Enjoy.
I awakened with a burning sensation throughout my entire body, and realized I must have overdone it at the club last night. I tried to muster up some strength to find some painkillers and only managed to turn over. My eyes widened at the sight before me as I let out a short girlish scream. There was another man beside me and from the looks of it, an asleep man, sleeping next to me. I stared at him in awe for what seemed like a couple minutes till I was brought back to reality with the sound of a morning birds song.
Who is this man? Why is he in my apartment? Why is he next to me?!
I touched his soft slightly pale skin as I gently brushed back his long black hair that hung over his face. My jaw instantly tightened as I recognized his face. This man, is one of the other Magicians from work, Viktor Kim. The burning sensation throughout my body only grew stronger trying to remember how he ended up in my apartment.
"Uh.. Excuse me?" I said, tapping his forehead
Viktor immediately opened his dark green eyes. His gaze so intense and questioning. It left me breathless as I studied his face. Even though, I knew that we both were burning from last nights performance and clearly hungover but he still looked perfect and would look even flawless if it wasn't for a little scar that ran through his left eyebrow. He was laying on his side with one hand underneath his head and the other draped over the cover. A smirk slowly began making its way across his face as I continued to examine him.
"Good morning," he smiled, as if waking up next to me was the perfectly normal thing for him to wake up to. He casted a searching spell and my pain killers appeared in his hand. He handed me the bottle, and we both took one.
"Um, yeah, you too. But, uh, why are you in my apartment?"
I could feel my face heating up as I began drawing my own conclusions.
"Ah, I'm afraid it's not what it looks like," he said teasingly, "You got pretty wasted last night. And after all the impressive magic you did, you just looked like you could use some help getting home."
It was nice of him to take me home, but that still didn't answer my question.
"Thanks, but why did you sleep here? And next to me of all places?"
I was a tad bit relieved to find that my assumption was wrong, but I also began to feel flustered. I spent the night with a creep, in my room of all places, while he did whatever creeps do. I could feel my eyes narrowing in on him.
"Look I wanted to make sure you were alright and.... " he paused, now it was his turn to blush and look away.
I couldn't be mad at him when he looked like that.
"What is it ?" I asked in a much nicer tone.
Viktor looked almost childish as he turned to face me, "I can't go back home." He pushed back the covers with a dramatic sigh escaping his lips, "Can you brew us some coffee?"
The sudden change in topic put me in a daze but only for a moment as I quickly recovered from it. Shaking my head I asked, "What do you mean?" as I looked at his now exposed body I recognize his pjs and realize they are mine! The nerve of this guy.
"I mean can you make me some coffee," he said tilting his head at me, "because I could use the caffeine."
I don't even have to say what I meant by asking that we just stare at eachother.
"Okay," he sighs again shrugging off the rest of the covers that was keeping him to my bed, "Guess I'll brew the cof-" he was cut off by a loud lightning strike that lit up the room around us.
We were so busy talking we didn't even notice that the weather had changed so dramatically. I stood up stretching my sore body and I swear I catch Viktor checking me out, "I'll make the coffee then, but.. I still want to know about-". I was cut off by Viktors hardened expression that had consumed his usually playful face. It was still very attractive but a little too intense for me to handle. I think I showed my reply through my expression because his face immediately softened.
Viktor let out another sigh as he watched my face carefully "Macklyn, I just don't want to talk about that right now"
"Macklyn is my last name, you can just call me Alex" I said, glancing at him with a sad smile before I walked into the kitchen to make the coffee. I could feel his eyes follow me to the small kitchen across from the bed. I chose to ignore the staring by looking out the window and watch the storm as I prepared the coffee.
The small room that makes up my apartment quickly fills with my favorite smell, the scent of fresh brewed coffee. I make my way back to Victor and sit carefully on the bed handing him the steaming mug.
He takes the mug carefully and accidently touched my hand, which I swear, killed me a little inside. Even worse is our eyes just awkwardly meet up and I'm the first to look away.
Still looking at me he says, "Why didn't you just use magic?" he asks, clearly a bit confused. "I mean I do it all the time."
I turn and gaze out the window watching the ongoing storm, "I don't believe in using magic for simple tasks that I can do on my own." I say, looking directly at him. "If you're always using magic to do the simple things then you'll never learn how to do them without."
That's it for now I might add more please tell me what you think. :)
