Sitting on the Rooftops

The moon, the stars, the cold night chill, and even the soft honking sounds from the main part of the city miles away. Calmly sitting on the rooftops doesn't seem like a bad idea when all you have is a busy scehdule. Seriously, it can sometimes suck...

For me, I had band, choir, drivers ed to start driving, and complications in my life like no other. So right now, sitting on the rooftop, looking up at the sky and thinking, trying to make all my life make sense, seemed appropriate.

My name's Naomi. Some say I'm weird with my strange so-called pshychic ways and blue eyes when my hair is pitch black. I actually died it that a few years back, but it has never seemed to fade out. Usually, I wore black, red, grey, blue, or even neon whenever I wanted.

My friends were close. Sophie, Cindy, my cousin Natasha, Julie, and Chris. Sophie had brown hair, brown eyes, and her favorite things to wear were blue and blue-green. Cindy has the same appearence as Sophie, but she enjoys to wear orange and pink, sometimes white and other bright colors. Natasha is pretty much like me, only she enjoys to wear grey. Julie enjoys yellow and purple or any color for that matter... Chris enjoys brown, grey, and usually wears a hoodie with fur on the inside.

But I wasn't thinking of my friends. No. I was thinking of my life and trying to figure things out. Of course I have chores and choices, school and a social life, but I try and keep to myself when I'm not in school or around people I feel uncomfortable around.

However, I knew that tonight was a little different. The dream I had the perivous night told me. Sometimes, I even have dreams what should happen. I have these when I'm asleep and I try and listen to them. They tell me things.

So sitting on a roof at night seems to be the best way to clear my thoughts and focus on one thing at a time. My house was a few blocks down, and nobody hardly ever knows where I am, but I say I'm going out anyway, and they say nothing.

The night cold, my breath in small nearly invisible clouds. I wish I could stay frozen in this time span. Alone at night with my own thoughts and feelings. But things never work out the way I would like them to. Nature and destiny seem to have that.... unlike for me I guess...

As I sat there, I heard shuffling behind me. I ignored it, hoping it would go away. My hair blew behind me, curling up into small tangles in the back like it always did. But the sound still continued, pausing them coming closer.

My instincts kicked in. First, let whoever was coming up come up really close. Then, get up calmly like I was about to leave. If whoever hadn't left, I would spin and kick them back, getting ready to kick whosever ass it was. I wasn't about to get messed with at fifteen.

Letting the sound shuffle closer, I heard multiple movements. Four... This should be a little difficult for me... I'm used to fighting only one person. So this was going to be interesting if I found a way to fight all four away from me.

The sounds came closer, but then suddenly, a finger poked the back of my shoulder. Inside, I shuddered, wondering who the hell poked me... Nobody pokes me without getting their finger broken or me squealing painfully in their ear.

Calmly, I turned around and was about to snatch the person's finger away from my shoulder when I stopped, looking into a pair of blue eyes, blue mask, green face, and ninja weapons.

"You okay?" he asked. His voice sounded concerned. I was okay, but seeing him made me loose my mind. Unsure what to say or do, I just sat there, staring at him shocked. There were three others just like him behind him. The only difference that I could see currently was that they had different colored masks: Red, purple, and orange.

Stepping up, the one with the orange bandana said rather happily, "Raph, you lost the bet with Leo!"

"Shut up!" the red masked one snapped, raising a fist at the orange masked one, who flinched away, hurrying to the purple masked one. "If I touched her, she would've screamed."
