"Alice, go get dressed. You have a playdate with Evan." said Lillian to her daughter.
"Man said Habit was ok to play with." Alice said and ran to her room to get dressed.
Lillian sighed and grabbed her purse and keys. She turned and found her daughter waiting by the door in her bunny hat with her bunny in her hand. They walked outside and got into the car.
Lillian pulled out of the drive way and started driving. They made it to the Jennings's household and got out off the car. Alice ran to the door and repeatedly pressed the doorbell until the door opened.
When it finally opened she mumbled a quick hello then ran to Evan's room. Her mother apologized and followed Evan's parents to the kitchen, where coffee was brewing.
"We can not get him to not be violent. The only time he's non violent is when he's with Alice." Admitted Mary, Evan's mom.
"Well Alice won't really speak unless she's with Evan." Lillian said and sipped her coffee, "I mean, she still listens but hardly says a word."
"That's the same with Evan and he doesn't respond to Evan anymore. He wants to be called Habit." Said John, Evan's dad..
All of a sudden a loud thump came from Evan's room and the parents got up to check on their children. They found Evan sitting on top of his turned over toybox with toys everywhere and Alice sitting in a pile of stuffed animals. The parents nodded and went back to their coffee's.
"Habit, can we play outside?" Alice asked looking out the window.
"Sure! Man can see us better." Evan said and the went to their parents.
"Mommy can we play outside?" Alice asked, tugging on her mother's skirt.
Lillian, John, and Mary nodded and the children ran out the backdoor.
"See, completely normal together but separated is crazy."
Alice and Evan stayed in the sand box and built a small town with humps for Houses. Then they flattened them reenacting Godzilla. Alice then paused for a second to look up.
"Habit, Look! A Bunny!" Alice squealed and started to go towards the Bunny. It stayed still as Alice came closer. She got close enough to pet it and petted it. It didn't run away. It allowed her to pick it up and she carried it back to Evan. The bunny allowed Evan to pet it.
"What do we call it?" Alice Pondered aloud.
"How about Bonnie?" Evan suggested.
"Sure!"
Alice set the bunny down and started to pet it before they heard inhuman screeching from the woods. They looked up and ran back into the house with Bonnie in her arms.
"What do you have there?" asked the parents when the children past them.
The children didn't answer and kept walking and went into Evan's room.
"Man and Rake must be hunting." Evan said.
"I don't like rake, he's scary." Alice whined
"Man won't let him hurt us. We're special." Evan reasured her.
Alice nodded and they continued to play with bonnie until Lillian decided to take Alice home. Evan and Alice decided that Evan would keep the rabbit.
A few days later Alice sat watching out of the dining room window.
"What are you looking at?" questioned Lillian.
Alice didn't answer but kept staring out the window. As if in a trance Alice got up from her seat and walked to the window.
Alice watched as the street lights grew brighter as the sky grew darker and then she spotted man again. She blinked and he was gone again. She went to her room and snuggled under her blankets and held her bunny close. She fell asleep.
Alice woke up to screaming. She got up and walked to her mother's room. Man was in the corner and the Rake was over her mother with his claws dripping blood.
Sirens began to sound and before she ran back to her room she said, "Man didn't like you."
