A/N: This is my first ever story and I'm going to try my best. I just need some patience from whoever is reading this. I'm doing this on a whim because I've had this idea forever, but basically none of this is pre-planned.

Hope you enjoy, let me know what you guys think.

Alright now I'll shut up and let you get started!

_____ _____ _____ _____ _____ _____ _____ _____ _____

Gaia.

"Suede!" I exclaimed as I walked into her room in our tiny apartment. "Wake up!"

I started looking through her closet trying to find the leather pants I had let her borrow almost a month ago. You see the thing with Suede is she's an amazing friend, but if you let her borrow something you'll probably never see it again unless you go and get it yourself.

I heard her mumbling and walked out. "What?" I said with a confused look on my face.

"What's the time!" she came out of the covers looking annoyed.

"Oh, it's 8." I turned around and kept looking for the pants. "Seriously Suede, where did you leave my stupid leather pants!"

"Forget your pants! Why did you wake me up so early?" she asked angrily. "We have nothing to do until later on tonight."

"Well, I got called in to work today so tell me where my pants are."

"They're in the drawer on the left." She sighed. " Gaia, what do you mean you work today? We have the concert later on and if you ditch me for your work again, I'm not inviting you out anymore."

"Don't worry, I'm not gonna ditch y-you." I breathlessly reassured her while struggling to put my pants on in her closet. "I get out of work at 7, I'll pick you up and we'll go." I walked out while lacing them up. I saw she wasn't on her bed anymore and sighed. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a mug for my coffee. "Look, Suede, I'm not gonna ditch you. I'll be home at 7 to pick you up and everything will be fine but you already know I can't tell them no when they call me in," I told her as I drank my coffee.

She rolled her eyes, "Fine."

I smiled and finished the rest of my coffee. "Alright, I'll see you later on tonight. I'm gonna head out."

"Your shoes," she said as she smiled into her coffee.

"Shit," I mumbled. "Thanks!" I slipped them on and ran out the door. I jumped into my shitty car and prayed it would turn on. Note to self: Stop buying clothes and buy a new car. The car barely turned on but luck was on my side today. And although there was traffic I knew it wasn't bad enough to make me late. You see I worked at TeenVogue but the real goal was Vogue. I used to only do coffee runs and if I was lucky I would write a couple columns a year, but now two years later, I was one of the main writers and basically editor in chief when Elaine wasn't there. It's a great job don't get me wrong but it's not Vogue. It's not high fashion. I was basically kissing ass and working 24/7 in hopes that I would get an amazing recommendation when a position opened up at Vogue. Which is exactly why I can never say no when they call me in and why I've bailed on Suede countless of times. But we can't all be models with flexible schedules like her. Although, she swears that I could be a model but it's not my calling. I would eat it if I ever had to walk down a runway.

I parked my car and drowned the meter with quarters, since I would be here most of the day. I looked at my phone and saw I had ten minutes. It was a five minute walk from where I parked so I rushed over to the main building, and as soon as I walked in I could tell it was going to be a hectic day.
