CQ went home from the hospital, tired from watching over Geno but she didn't care. She saw her two boys on the living room, Error watching TV and Fresh playing with his furby. "Hey, boys, guess what?" she said "You two can get to visit Geno! The doctor said he's stable enough to be visited." Error's jaw dropped and Fresh just looked at his mother. She told the boys to go to sleep early as she would be taking them to the hospital tomorrow.
Error immediately prepares himself to bed, excited and probably might take a while for him to sleep while Fresh shrugs at his brother's behavior and went to bed.
The following day, CQ brought the boys to the hospital and led them to Geno's room. CQ was surprised to see a nurse rushing out from Geno's room. She left the boys for a while to ask someone -- the nurse on the front desk. "Excuse me," CQ said. "Is there something wrong with my son, Geno?"
The nurse looked at her and said, "You must be his mother. Please wait," the nurse said as she grabbed a clipboard with some papers clipped. "I'm sorry to say but you aren't allowed to enter his room for a while."
"I'm sorry, but why? The doctor told me he was stable yesterday." CQ said.
"Just this morning not too long ago, Geno stopped breathing and for a while, his heart stopped. The doctors are trying their best to bring him back."
CQ slammed her hands on the desk, tears starting to well up, blurying her vision. Error and Fresh looked at their mother in confusion. "Mom?" Error asked. "Something wrong?" CQ didn't respond but Fresh knew of the answer. "That expression," Fresh spoke as if he's scared to say it out loud. "Geno is in that room, right?"
When CQ stiffened, Error asked, "Which room?" Fresh pointed to a door as the same nurse came in, carrying a lot of bags of liquid. "That door," he said casually like he didn't care
"Mom!" Error said, clearly irritated at Fresh's answer of which door instead of Geno's condition. "Tell me what's going on! Is Geno okay?!" CQ didn't respond but instead, she hugged Error "We're going to wait, okay?" she said. Error wanted to argue and hope but it might make matters worse.
Hours had passed. Error is sleeping on Fresh's shoulder for some reasons and Fresh does the same, only on Error's head. Finally, Geno's doctor went out of the room. CQ quickly but quietly greeted the doctor without disturbing her sons sleep. "Well, doctor?" she asked.
The doctor removed his face mask and asked, "Are you his mother?"
CQ nodded. "There's nothing to worry about your son. Although he'll experience a slight headace every now and then but it'll go away in a few weeks. But unfortunately..." the doctor's voice trailed off, unsure what to say as he scratched at the back of his head. "He'll have an amnesia."
CQ started to cry. Her sobbing must've woken her sons up as a sleepy voice of Error piped up asking, "Mom?" Turning around, Error is removing sleep from his eyes as Fresh yawned and stretched. "Is everything alright?"
She covered her mouth with her hands as she sobbed. "Geno's... alright, but..."
"But what, mom?"
"Geno has an amnesia..."
