Chapter 1:Meet The Geek Club

A rooster started crowing through an early morning. The alarm clock beside me indicates that it's 7 in the morning in large red numbers. I get up from bed and starts to prepare for another typical day of school. I take a quick bath, get dressed and stuff all the stack of books and notes in my backpack from my study table. I must've studied to sleep last night. I sigh and lift my backpack feeling heavier than its usual weight, I have to return some of the books I borrowed from the library since midterm is already over. I take a quick glance in the mirror, seeing myself as a pale skin and thin young lady, my chestnut brown hair is still a little damp though I've already dried them up for a couple of minutes using my hair dryer, I apply chapstick to hide my pale lips just like my skin and finally tied my hair into a bun and I'm ready for another day of school.

I'm half an hour early before the first class starts, I wave at Charlotte and Rebecca making my way to them to the locker room. "Good Morning girls!" greeting them.

"Oh my gosh" Charlotte says eyeing me while I'm putting 4 of my books in my locker.

"How many books did you bring today, Katie?" Rebecca asks me with her brow raising up.

I smile "I've a total of 7 books in my backpack on the way here but these books I'm putting in my locker will be returned right away in their shelves at the library. Thank you."

I smile at the both of them. I'm surprised that I still startle them whenever I pull a bunch of books out of my backpack when I've been doing these for all my life since I stepped in school.

"Hey, is today supposed to be the teachers announcing the scores we've got in our dull exam?" Rebecca asks.

"Yeah, I think so. You excited?"

"Nah, I know you''ll be at the top like usual and I''ll be the second" she winks.

"Seriously, girls how could you just study in your whole life? Without fun in it?" Now it's typical Charlotte saying again.
We've been used to what she would say every time "studying" brought up .

"Studying is fun you know" Rebecca and I both say to her in chorus.

Charlotte rolls her eyes "Let's just go into our classes, nerds."

I and Charlotte have been friends since 3rd grade. She was the kind of a kid that always doodle on her notebook while I'm being the kid who's busy jotting down all what's written on the board. I've always wanted to become a Nurse when I get in a University someday. Charlotte was a girl next door, so even we've had different personalities we still became friends- Best friends actually. But her parents got divorced and she was in custody of her mother who decided not to leave our town and lived a few blocks away from us instead. Therefore we still went in the same elementary until in High school. Nothing changed in our friendship, well, during middle school, we met Rebecca who's got her parents same as Charlotte, but none of them wanted her. She told us that she's just reminded them of their failed relationship, it was a silly reason though. So she got to live with her aunt instead.

It was in the first week of school when we first got to know Rebecca, "the new girl", appeared to our class, she was been quiet the entire time until Charlotte asked her to have a sleep over in their house with me. I still remember how dumbfounded Charlotte was by Rebecca's reaction, she smiled and told her she was preparing for the exams we'll be having next month. She screamed at me telling she just met my twin. Well, we finally got her to go with us and it was all like a wholesome bonding when everybody's been out to get their first party, drink and kiss, while we were out for Harry Potter Marathon, group studying and reading hyped novels. Until now. But there are times, Charlotte doesn't hang out with us but instead at the parties of her cheerleading team. My life is perfect with the two most precious people in my life that's always been there for me. I smiled at the thought.

My morning classes have ended up well just usual. And I'm already heading to the cafeteria to wait for Charlotte and Rebecca. I walked to the counter and picked ham and cheese sandwich, an Apple and orange juice. The two girls are sitting on our usual spot so I sit beside them. We're usually having our normal conversation, Rebecca asking me what novel I'm into right now and Well, Charlotte complaining how their cheer captain is becoming bitchy again. I don't know if that's even a word.

The Cafeteria goes from having a pleasant ambiance to annoyingly disgusting. We both look up to the guy, Ryan McCumber, making his way to his table with two girls hooking up in to both of his arms. I don't even know how he's multi tasking it-flirting with two girls in both of his arms while carrying his tray to his table. I frown at them.
I hear a loud sigh from Charlotte "What are they even seeing to your cousin, becky?"

Rebecca shakes her head disappointed like us. I take another glance to his table, one girl is whispering something to him and he's got this stupid wide grin on his face. I wonder what is she whispering in the first place, is she offering him to do his homework? Or maybe something worse, I cringe at the thought.
I focus my attention to my sandwich instead.

I drank all my orange juice, took a couple of bite on my Apple and walk my way to return my tray. I accidentally bump to a tall guy when a student sprinted his way to the counter, I nearly fell. Tall guy is holding my shoulder to balance me.

"hey, you alright?"

I know that voice and frown when I look up to him to confirm who it is. It's the boy who was just making a PDA awhile ago.

"Are you gonna throw that Apple though?"

I realize I wasn't even responding to him, I shake my head. He grabs it from my tray and taps my head. When I look up, he's already eating the apple I left a mark of bite. I didn't speak anything as he made his way out winking to the two girls he was been flirting awhile ago.

"Now, Now, am I seeing another girl who'll fall for the F boy?" Charlotte crossing her arms in front of me.

"What girl?" I pause thinking my way to escape out. "Gotta go to the library to return some books,bud. Later "

I'm walking twice as fast as my usual walk. I know Ryan McCumber for years now because he's Rebecca's cousin and she lives with his family and everytime we go to their house, we always see different girls making their way out from his bedroom and none of them goes there twice I bet. Ha. So the first time I got to their house, I felt disgusted about him. He's the exact opposite guy that I wanna be with.
