I walk in my house holding the new game I bought, Sword Art Online. I run upstairs to my room to play it, then I hear, "Rinku Valors Leonhart, get down here right now!"
I put the game by my computer and walk back downstairs to see what my mom wants. She tells me to clean up the kitchen before I start playing my games. I kinda made a mess in there before I left to buy SAO. I quickly cleaned up my mess and went back upstairs, in my room. I lay in bed and put on my NervGear.
"Link, start!"
I put in all my information and password and start the game.
I spawn in the Town of Beginnings and run out of town to the West Fields right away. I need to buy some equipment for my character as soon as possible.
After awhile fighting enemies I see this guy with black hair and this other guy with red hair and a headband. The guy with red hair was acting like getting hit in the nuts hurts here. I laughed and then got hit by a boar.
"Damn it! I should of been paying attention more."
After awhile later, I buy some new equipment. It wasn't much better then what I had, but it's good enough. Right after I got done equipping what I bought a bell started ringing and I got force teleported to the center of the Town of Beginnings along with everyone else. I looked up and saw a red warning sign in the sky and soon after the sky was covered in the warning signs. Red stuff that kinda looks like blood drips from the warning signs and form a person in a red cloak that hides his face. Some people get scared. The guy in the red cloak starts speaking, "Attention players. I welcome you to my world. My name is Akihiko Kayaba and as of this moment I am in control of this world."
I hear others talking. They sound so worried. I kinda am too.
"I'm sure you've already noticed that the logout button is missing from your main menu. Let me assure you, this is not a defect in the game. I repeat. This is not a defect in the game, this is how Sword Art Online was designed to be. You can not log yourselves out of SAO and no one from will be able to shutdown or remove the NervGear from your head. If anyone attempts to do so, a transmitter in the NervGear will charge a microwave signal into your skull, destroying your brain and ending your life."
Two people try to walk away from the center of town, but a barrier stops them, and one of them start yelling.
"Despite my warning, families and friends of some of the players have attempted removing the NervGear. An unfortunate decision to say the least, as a result, the game now has 213 players less players then when it began. They've been deleted from both Aincrad and the real world."
He pulls up some websites so we can see some evidence of what he's talking about.
"As you can see, international media outlets have round the clock coverage of everything including the deaths. At this point, it's safe to assume the likelihood of the NervGear being removed is minimum at best. I hope this brings you a little comfort as you try to clear the game. It's important to remember the following. There is no longer anyway to revive someone in the game. If your HP drops to zero, your avatar will be deleted from the system forever, and the NervGear will simultaneously destroy your brain. There's only one way for a player to escape now. You must clear the game.
He shows a map to everyone of all of Aincrad.
"Right now, your gathered on floor one, the lowest level of Aincrad. If you can get through the dungeon and defeat the boss, you may advance to the next floor. Defeat the boss on floor 100 and you will clear the game."
Everyone starts yelling more, saying it's impossible and other stuff.
"Last, but not least, I've placed a little present in the item storage of each player. Please have a look."
I open my menu and look in my inventory.
"A mirror!?"
I take it out the mirror
"What the hell!!"
A beam of light surrounds everyone, even me. It was so bright.
"What happened?" I say confused.
I look in the mirror and see that my real self instead of my avatar's. I drop the mirror. Kayaba starts speaking again, "Right now your probably wondering, "Why? Why would Akihiko Kayaba, developer of Sword Art Online and NervGear, do such a thing?" Ultimately my goal was a simple one. The reason I created Sword Art Online was to control the fate of a world of my design. As you can see, I have achieved my goal. This marks the end of the tutorial and the official launch of Sword Art Online. Players, I wish you the best of luck."
Red smoke comes from him and he disappears. The warning signs disappear too. A girl screams and bumps into someone and everyone starts panicking. The barrier disappears and I follow those two I saw before and listen to their conversation.
"That guy seems to know what to do for leveling and gaining money." I think to myself.
The one with the headband runs past me, then I hear the other one start to run, and I follow him to the next town so I can level up and gain more money easier. I follow him until we get to the next town.
"I need to beat this game and get back home to the real world as soon as possible!" I accidentally say out loud, louder then I thought.
I see the guy's username as he turns around and looks at me.
"Kirito?"
