I woke up to a blinding light. I was unaware of where I was, and I knew i hadn't fallen asleep here "Eva?" i stuttered. "Eva? Where are you?" I said louder, starting to get anxious. I went to sit up, only to be forced down into the bed I was laying on.
"Doctor, she's up." said a monotone male voice.
"What? Where am I?" I said with the little energy i had. "Where's my sister?" I looked around. An off-white roof was above be. I looked at the walls of the room. White, with scratches from furniture being moved around the room. There was a door propped open. The sign hanging on it read 'B13'. I continued visually searching the room until i stumbled upon a machine next to me. The constant beep explained my surroundings. 'Hospital' I thought to myself. "How'd I get here? Who are you? Where's Eva? Tell me!"
"Doctor she's moving too much, she will ruin the sutures!" said the same monotone voice.
"Supply amnesia. She needs sleep anyway." a tall man with brown hair and tan skin approached. "Jordan, is it?" I nodded in approval. Just then a mask was put over my head. It smelt like medicine and chloroform, a smell I somehow already knew. "Alright Jordan, just hold still okay?" He smiled maniacally, "This won't hurt a bit..." I felt a sharp pain in my arm. My eyes grew heavy. And hard to keep open. Black. All i could see was black. I couldn't open my eyes no matter what i did. Everytime I tried to move a sharp pain would come to the body part i was moving. It was useless. I was asleep, unable to awaken. No matter how i struggled, no matter how much i tried to scream, i couldn't wake up. I heard someone faintly speaking.
"Doctor. Her internal organs are almost frozen solid. The tsunami was twenty three days ago, she's lucky to be alive." the deep male voice spoke.
"Yes I know. It seems as though she hasn't eaten anything in three weeks. She's not dehydrated to my surprise though. Very lucky indeed."
"What tsunami?" I tried to speak. It was hopeless. Wait, twenty three days, ocean, the beach. What happened?

"Smile!" my mother exclaimed as she snapped the photo of me and my sister Eva. We were celebrating the fourth in Long Beach Island.
"Jordan, Jordan, Jordan!" my little sister smiled. Her eyes were lit up with joy and excitement.
"What's up love?"
"Let's go in the ocean! It'll be fun! I can't go alone. I would, but I'm not big enough." she begged. I wasn't one for the ocean.
"Alright Eva! I'll go in." I spoke with dread. I grabbed her hand and we walked down to the water. We slowly stepped in, getting used to the temperature of the water. Once we had made it past the break line of the waves we began treading to the sandbar. We had almost made it when Eva told me she was going to go get her boogie board. She quickly swam out and returned. I strapped the board to her wrist and had her lay on the board since she could barely touch. Her being only six, it was hard for her to reach the sandy bottom.
"These waves are abnormally big today, we should get out Evangeline." I used her full name to show I was being serious.
"No Jordan! We just got in! Please, pretty please with a cherry on top!" she pleaded.
"Evangeline! No." she looked so sad I couldn't stand it. "Fine, five more minutes, and then that's it Eva!" I said sternly to show I meant it.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you! Love you Jords!" her eyes lit up.
"Love you too Eva." I smiled at her excitement. We started messing around. Eventually we decided the five minutes were up, even though it had been about twenty.
As we were walking Eva turned around. "Jordan, what's that?" she had horror in her voice. I turned around to see a huge wave approaching.
"Eva, come here" she was frozen in place. "Eva! Come here right now!" i grabbed her hand and held her tight.
"Jordan..?"
"Whatever you do, do not let go!" I pulled her towards my chest and wrapped my arms around her. People started screaming and you could hear the wave approaching.
"Jordan! Eva! Girls!" we heard our mother screaming from the water's edge.
"Mom! I love you!" I screamed. Her face looked horrified and sad. "Mom, get to a tree!" She froze for moment, then turned and ran to the nearest tree. She climbed up and held on. She could still see and hear us.
"Jordan..?" my sister said with terror and curiosity in her trembling voice.
"Shh it's okay Eva."
"Jordan... are we going to be okay..?"
"Everything will be fine Eva, i promise." as i finished my sentence the wave rushed into us. I held on to her tighter, her grip on me grew as well. Her screams filled my ears as they filled with water. Then, blackness. My grip on her loosened as hers grew. I felt a sharp pain in my head. I tried my hardest to hold onto her, but i felt her slipping. Right before i blacked out i felt her climb into my swim shirt as an extra way to keep herself tethered to me. Then i completely fell into a state of nothing.
