Beep Beep

Ugh stupid (Y/N) I set my alarm to late. OMG it's already 9:15?!? My gig starts at 9:30. I quickly rolled out of bed with my Duckie shorts and Beary the Bear Bear shirt on. Why would a 23 year old wear this? I take those off immediately and put my Twenty Øne Pilots shirt on and some black shorts on. I grab a bagel and head out the door. As I go to lock the door, I notice my feet are cold. Crap! My shoes! I open the door and put on some flip flops. I head out and lock my door. I frantically run across street after street and one time I almost get hit by a taxi. Stupid New Yorkers! They don't even know when to stop! Once I reach the  coffee shop, (which btw is called "Lava Java"; it fits perfectly because their drinks are really hot) I look like a hot mess. I forgot makeup and my hair is a mess but luckily I had my hair in braids last night so it's not that bad. Wow. I walk in and there are at least 15 people here. This is the most people I've ever preformed in front of. I sit down on my stool on the stage and introduced myself into the microphone. "Hello. My name is (Y/N) (Y/L/N) and I will be singing a few songs by Twenty Øne Pilots." I look down at my shirt and I hear I slight "Woo!" in the back. I guess I'm not the only person in here who likes them. "I'm singing their songs because tonight they are performing in Madison Square Garden in front of a sold out crowd!" I wish I could have gone but I'm so broke right now. Even though I am a fashion designer, I can't afford tickets. My rent is so much. I cringe every time I see that number. Once I'm done thinking to myself I start singing Trees. I think about how much I want to see them. Next I sing Lane Boy. People are astonished that I can rap that even though it's pretty easy. As I'm half way through the song, some dude (he looks sketchy af btw) walks in and stares at me... I think I can't tell because he has reflective aviators on. He moves his head a bit to the song. He orders a coffee in the name John. I remember exactly what he ordered too. It's weird because I could just barely hear him. At this point I go back to singing because it's hard for me to sing and silently stare him down. When I finish the song, he sits down and shouts "Hey! Nice song choice and shirt!" I reply with a simple thanks. I continue singing and the song I sing is The Judge, one of Josh's favorites. I start singing and "John" smiles. Is his name really John? As I stare at him longer I see red hair. Not like natural red like... wait is that? No it can't be. I continue singing until I finish. I sing a few more TØP songs. Afterward I announced, "I hope you guys enjoyed! I'm currently looking for a gig to play today and next Friday so if you would like me sing for your event or uh... something please feel free to take a sticky note from the counter and write down your name, number and event and put it in the box beside it! Also tips and written ratings are appreciated!" "John" gets up and calls somebody. He makes several facial expressions but I don't know what he's talking about because so many people are talking. Once he gets off he goes to the event/tip/rating box. He writes something down and puts it in the box. He also puts in a tip. Once everyone is done with ratings and stuff I open the box. I notice that "John" is sitting down watching me with a smirk on his face. I pull out one note that reads " Madison Sq. Garden TØP Concert Opening act. Josh Dun. I'll tell you my number just come over to the guys you were checking out earlier. I have an open seat for you :)" I stare at Josh and I freeze. I'm shaking! It's him! I drop the box but I pick it up and put the lid back on it. I do a very pitiful sprint to where he was sitting (PE was not my best subject in middle school). As I sat down I said hello and blushed. He took off his glasses and leaned in close to me. So about that gig.
