P.s. I'm so jealous of Manu's white complexion. :3 Hahahaha.

Anyway, I dedicate this chapter to norlfriends because she's amazing and is a great friend.

Anyway, Chappy 35!

"Hey, Gavin." I greeted him as soon as I opened the door. Gavin smiled at me and waved his hand, weakly. Yep, Gavin is paler than before. His bald head has dark spots on it. "How are you feeling?" I asked. Gavin held my hand and smiled.

"I don't know." He said. "I'm feeling weak." He added and bit his chapped lip.

I wiped my tears and held his hand tighter. "You will be okay, okay?" I cheered him.

"C'mon, Kirby. We all know I'm not going to be okay." He said while chuckling. "I'm getting worse day by day and I don't know how long I can take this."

"Gavin..." I said. "Your mom told me you're giving up." I said and looked down.

"I'm sorry, Kirby—"

"Do I need to be your girlfriend, huh?" I spoke, unconsciously. I looked at him with wide eyes. Did I just...

Gavin blinked twice because of shock. "W-wha—"

"Okay, I will be your girlfriend." I said without hesitancy in my tone.

"W-why are you being like this?" Gavin asked with a confused look.

I don't know why I'm acting this way, too. I'm messing things up.

"I just want you to be okay." I said softly.

Gavin chuckled in annoyance. "Wait, you think if you're going to be my girlfriend, I will be cancer-free? Is that what you mean?" He asked.

"No, but—"

"I am not selfish, Kirby. I am willing to give you up, okay? I've been through hell and I am still here in this room. I will never force you to be my girlfriend. Kirby, I am dying. I would at least want to do a good deed and that is to make you happy. To make you happy with Manu. I know it will hurt me, but it would be unbearable if you're in a relationship with me even if I know you don't like me. I am happy with being your friend, okay? If this is what I deserve, I will gladly accept it." Gavin said.

To be honest, I was shocked. I didn't expect Gavin would say those words. I expected different.

"I-I'm sorry..." I looked down. "I'm sorry for thinking of you as a shallow person." I apologized.

"It's okay. Can I get a hug?" Gavin pleaded. I chuckled and gave him a hug. I felt him caressed my hair and kissed the side of my head. Gavin broke our hug and looked at me with a smile on his face.

"What?" I asked while chuckling.

"Damn, Manu is one lucky guy." He said. I arched a brow at him. "I would've fought for you. I could have, but I got this, so...he is lucky I'm dying." Gavin said, casually. He even laughed at the thought of him dying.

"Gavin!" I yelled and he stopped. "You're not going to die."

"Oh, c'mon. Be practical, Kirby. No one survives cancer. Cancer is a b****." He laughed.

"I still believe in miracles." I said.

"Are you kidding me?" Gavin laughed.

"Shut up." I joked. "Yes, I believe in it. And you need to believe that you're going to live. You always have a choice, Gavin. Whether you're going to fight or not. But yeah, we don't know when we're going to die. All we can do is be ready for it." I said.
