Simulation

First simulation

I walked into New Light the next morning at 7:50 A.M. I start walking past the front desk, when the lady that works there stops me. "Excuse me. You can't go up there unless you're here for the volunteer position, but I believe it was filled yesterday." "Yes. It was. It was filled by me. I'm going up there because I work here now. Now if you'd excuse me I have to go to work and the owner that hired me doesn't want me there after eight." I say and walk off. She yells at me and tells me to come back real quick so I walk back to her. "You're that girl. Aren't you. The girl that was asking about Margret." "Oh you mean the girl that you told to have a nice day in a very bitchy tone. Yep that'd be me." I say and then walk to the elevator. I press the button to the elevator and wait for it to come down to the main floor. I hear the elevator shaft come down, and a few seconds later the doors to the elevator slid open, and I step on pressing the 6th button. I wait for the doors to close, and for the elevator to make it's way to floor six. It had gotten to floor six and I stepped out of the elevator. I didn't know what type of training I had to do especially since I didn't really know what type of training could be done for people that test things. I walk into the room at the end of the hall, and only see one person there. It was Will. "Are you ready for your training?" "As ready as I can be I guess. What are you going to train me on?" "I guess it's not really training, its more like going over rules, and letting you work in practice simulations." "Oh..." I say and then sit down in a desk chair. "So tell me the rules." I say trying not to sound so excited. After about three hours of going over rules. I finally got to be part of the simulation. He took me to a room that said "Practice" on it. We entered the room, it was just a white room with nothing else in it. Apparently I was just supposed to stand there, and when he turned on the simulation I would be transported into the simulation, Will leaves the room and I close my eyes and take a deep breath. I hear Will's voice in a speaker in the room I guess, "Are you sure you want to do this? If so give me a thumbs up." I gave him a thumbs up. "Ok, I'm starting the simulation in 3...2....1...." Everything went black and it was like I was in a coma, I could hear everything, but I couldn't see anything. All of a sudden a faded light came into view, and I was standing instead of laying down, and then I realized that I must be in the simulation. I heard a voice inside my head "Remember this place Jenny because you will have to come back to it." "It sounds like Will but I can't really tell, it sounded like it knew what it was doing though so I thought I'd listen to it. Great now you're talking to yourself also." "Jenny chill out!" I hear the voice say. "Now go explore." I hesitantly take more steps and walk farther into the simulation, my head is spinning a little bit and when I asked Will about it, he said it was completely normal. "Where do I go first?" I ask Will "Anywhere." he says and I start walking. I know I'm supposed to be looking for if the world is suitable for living. I'm looking for errors that might be in the simulation, or if it possible for people to live in it without it crashing. I walk around and see houses, and parks, and stores, but no people. Everything looks like the real world except there is one factor missing, one important part for humanity the humans. For about five hours, looking for these things when I hear Will's voice telling me that it was time to leave the simulation and come back to the real world. In order for me to get back to the real world I have to walk back to where I came into the simulation at. I walk back to where I started, "I'm here." I say, and Will tells me that I should be able to just walk through it. I walk through it and I'm all of a sudden in the room again. I walk out of the practice room, and it's time to go home. I still live at the hotel kind of I guess, so I still need an apartment or a house. I tell Will goodnight, and walk back to the hotel.
