Almost Average

The Project

"Ding dong!"
I hear the doorbell ring from my bedroom. Since no one else goes to get I decide to. I grumpily run down the stairs and open the door. It's Josh.
"Josh what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with your girlfriend or something?"
What is he doing here? We're not friends and I defiantly don't want to be his friend. And why would he want to come to my house?
"First of all my girlfriend is at cheerleading practice," I roll my eyes "And secondly I came here to work on our project."
I suddenly get very confused. We don't have a project? Oh shoot. We do. I forget that during History Mr. Milinski assigned us partners for some project that's due in a week. And I'm guessing Josh is my partner.
"Oh yeah the project, I totally forgot about that. Come on let's go to the kitchen table and start working on our project."
The project was a slides presentation. Each set of partners got assigned a famous person from the revolutionary war to make a slides presentation about. We got John Hancock. By the time we decided we should be done for the day we were already 1/4 of the way done. It had taken us 2 hours. Before Josh left he did something that really surprised me. I had been gathering up papers we had used when he said something.
"Anne, come here." He said.
I turned around and he moved his face closer to mine. He had a big grin on his face. He kept getting closer and closer. Then he kissed me. I was freaking out.
"Um well uh bye Josh see you at school tomorrow."
I couldn't think of anything else to say. I mean he just kissed me! He grabbed his stuff and left. I ran upstairs and laid on my bed starring at my ceiling, thinking about everything that had just happened in the past five minutes.
