"I can't believe you two are together either!" Mom squeals. "I can't wait until you introduce him to your wolf, I hope to the goddess infinity times that he accepts you both and he can become part of the family."

"Me too. I mean, can you image me with a mate? Me sharing my room?" I laugh. I never really grew up thinking about mates. I knew I had one out there, I just thought more about becoming the next best Beta.

"Soon you'll be moving your room to the adult floor. I can't believe this is all happening so fast. My baby boy is turning eighteen next month, you found your mate, you'll become Beta once he accepts you and you turn eighteen, you have your first boyfriend, and your graduating school in a few months. Stop growing up!" She ends up bursting into tears so I quickly jump up and pull her into a tight hug.

"Oh mom, don't cry. I'll still be living here at the pack house. I may be growing up but I'll still be here. Plus, when I become Beta I should be hanging around the house more so you'll see me all the time."

"But you're going to be starting you own adult life and starting a family with your mate," She cries onto my shoulder, soaking my shirt.

"Whoa there, mom," I say startled. "I just found Beowulf, we won't be starting a family for at least another year or two."

"But the grandbabies," My mother says as she pulls her head up to look at me. "I want grandbabies,"

"Mom," I laugh. "You still have Jojo to keep you entertained and on your toes. You don't need any grandbabies for a few years still,"

"Ridge, I could die," She says dramatically.

"Mom, don't say that," I scold her. "I don't even know if Beowulf wants kids. Then we'd have to decide if we wanted a human or a werewolf, then go to the adoption center and pick one out. Mom, I'm sorry, but you're going to have to wait a few years until you get kids."

"But, Ridge!" She exclaims. "I want babies running around again,"

"Okay, ew, I can't believe I'm about to say this, but talk to dad about that, not me,"

"Talk to dad about what?" My father asks as he walks into the room. He sees my mother's tear streaked face and instantly he is at her side pulling her into a tight embrace. "Darling what's wrong?"

"I want grandbabies, Lukas," She cries out. "But Ridge says he is going to make me wait years until that happens,"

"I said at least two," I defend myself. "Mom, I'm not ready to have kids right now. Just because I found my mate doesn't mean we have to adopt as soon as possible. I want Beowulf comfortable living here first before we even discuss starting a family."

"How are you and Beowulf?" My dad asks. "I heard you had a date last night," He says as he places a kiss on top of moms head.

"It went perfectly, and we are official now." I say with a huge grin. "But he still doesn't know about werewolves and I don't plan on telling him at least until after Christmas." I inform the both of them so they don't let anything slip to Beowulf.

"But, Ridge, the babies," Mom moans. "The babies need a home, and you finding your mate is the perfect opportunity for them at getting that home."

"Then why don't you just adopt?" I ask.

"Whoa, what?" My dad asks with wide eyes. "Why are you putting these ideas in your mothers head, Ridge?"

"Lukas, don't you want another child? We could have our own baby, or even Ridge's idea is perfect. I just miss having babies around and teaching them everything. And with Jojo starting kindergarten next year she will be gone even longer now," My mother whines.
