We met a woman who looked to be about thirty holding a sign that said "Red Nose Day" in large, neat lettering. She led us to an army green, open-roof Jeep and once we were all seated and our suitcases stored, she introduced herself as "Adanna". The woman also explained that she was the Red Nose Day ambassador for the small village we were going to be living in for three weeks, called "Accra".

Louis made some sort of snarky remark about how her name was Adanna and she lives in Ghana and then asked if her parents were into rhyming.

We all had a good laugh out of that one, including Adanna (I'm glad she didn't mind Lou's good-natured teasing, he does that to everyone he likes). It definitely lightened the mood and eased the tension. Adanna then proceeded to explain to us what we would be doing during our stay.

"You guys are going to be helping out our volunteer teachers for three and a half weeks, five days a week. You're free to do whatever you want on the weekends.

On the Thursday of the fourth week you've been here, we will drive you to the city to visit the hospital so you to help out there and cheer up the patients. You'll stay there Friday and Saturday, come back to Accra on Sunday for a surprise, then head back to the UK on Monday.

Now back to the part about you boys helping out in our school. So basically, Red Nose Day sponsors the class room supplies, the cabins that the volunteers live in, the volunteer kitchen and the cooking supplies, the ingredients for the sandwiches that the students and teachers have for lunch during school and the textbooks that the students use.

School starts at ten a.m. and ends at three p.m. There are five periods in a day: English, Science, Math, History and Music. Each period is an hour long and lunch will be handed out at 12:00, to both students and teachers. You will eat the sandwiches while you work.

There are five grades in this school and it is an elementary and high school. Class One is seven and eight year olds, Class Two is nine and ten year olds, and so on until Class Five which is fifteen and sixteen year olds.

You boys are going to be the teachers' assistants. Each of you will be assigned to one teacher. Harry, you'll be helping Alex with Math. Zayn, you'll be with Samantha, who's in charge of English. Liam, you're assigned to Alice, who teaches music. Louis, you'll be helping out Matt with Science, and finally, Niall, you'll be working with Brian, who teaches History.

You'll all be staying in a cabin while you're here and will be sharing with the male teachers and Evan, one of the three volunteers that prepare the lunches at school.

The female teachers, the other two lunch prep volunteers and I have our own cabin right next to yours, and although bunk-hopping is very much allowed, you should probably catch up on your sleep tonight to adjust to the time difference.

You boys have already eaten enough on the plane, right?"

"Yeah" we chorused.

"Well then I suggest you get to know your bunk-mates a bit before going to bed, since it's already about eleven p.m. You can unpack tomorrow after school and the other boys will tell you where to put your belongings."

We continued driving and made small talk for a bit until Adanna finally told us we had arrived. I could make out the faint silhouettes of little huts here and there but it was very hard considering how dark it was.

After a few minutes, we came to a stop in front of two identical wooden cabins with small porches and little gas lamps attached to the doors, casting circles of yellow light across the outside of the structures.

We creaked open our cabin door and took in our surroundings.

Six wooden bunk beds lined the walls, four of them bare. There was a wide space between the beds and a small circular rug in the middle of the floor. Finally, four boys sat around the carpet, playing cards. As soon, as they saw us, they jumped up and introduced themselves.

All of them seemed nice and looked to be in their early to mid-twenties, so about our age.

The boys gave us a five second tour of the cabin, showing us the bathroom, the sinks, and the closet.

We then chose our beds. Niall and Harry decided to bunk together, so did Zayn and Lou. I ended up with Paul, which I knew was going to be fun.

One of the teachers, Matt, suggested we unpack what what we needed for tomorrow and do the rest the next day.

After everything was done, we joined the poker game that was interrupted by our arrival and spent the rest of the night laughing, talking and having a pretty great time. So much for "adjusting to the time difference".

A/N: Hiiiiiii :) I hope you guys liked this chap. I'm sorry that it was about two weeks late but I needed to come up with names for all the characters who are volunteers and I had mountains of school work to do. Next update will be wayyyy quicker, pinky swear. Please read vote and comment your opinions and constructive criticism because it is always welcome. *Dedication to a commenter*. Thanks :)

Lots of love,

NOTE: In real life, there is a city in Ghana by the named Accra which is the country's capital. In reality it's a big city. However, in this fanfic, I'm making it a small, poor village. So if you guys decide to research Ghana or Red Nose Day or 1D in Ghana or whatever, don't think I haven't done my research and am writing this without any information because believe me, I've been googling all that stuff A LOT. With that being said, have a great morning/night/afternoon :)
