I follow Rose, hand in hand, into one of my favorite rooms: the rooms are lined with books and a fire place lit in my small book nook.

Rose stares in awe of all the knowledge. Yet another think I love about her; she thinks she knows everything, but she's always learning anyway.

"Are they all in English?" she asks, dropping my hand and walking over to a self.

"Yes, remember how the Tardis translated the Sycorax's language? It can do that with about any text too." She opens one up, flipping through it quickly. I believe a 'wow' is muttered. I go over to one of my favorite books. The History of Mankind stays proudly open on the book stand. Rose trots over to me, her nose deep in a book.

"This is just like Romeo and Juliet, but.... so much different at the same time..." she trails off. I chuckle, pulling the book away gently. She looks down at my favorite book. My father used to read it to me when I was just a small one. That's what time lords call 3-8 year olds. I used to think they were just stories. Then I had to leave, and I decided to see if they were true. Some of them are such horrid stories.  Yet, there are some good ones too.

I stay silent, watching Rose reading. Her mouth forms an 'O'. She then turns to me. "When did this happen?" she asks, pointing to the book. It was the population depletion. I quickly shut the book. Rose gives me a look that clearly says she won't let this go. And I know she's stubborn.

"Spoilers. I, also, don't want to upset you... It's pretty depressing," I explain, pulling her over to the couch. I give her the book back, and I go off to get one myself.

I return with an addition of a Gallifreyian folk tail. It's about a boy. He had always wanted to fly. Yet, he couldn't license a Tardis because he was too young. So the young boy climbed a tree. A very tall one. Then he fell, and died.

You know what? I never really liked this story.

By the time I'd gotten back Rose had a big stack of books around her and she was trying to read two at the same time. I smile, going over to help her.

All of a sudden K-9 comes 'round the corner. "K-9!" I exclaim, happily. He strangely has a tray of tea.

"Greetings." His tail wags as he rolls up to us.

"Hello K-9!" Rose says joyfully, looking up from her book. I take two cups of tea, handing one to Rose. She gladly takes it with some comment of how she's parched. I sip the steamy beverage. I feel so content, something a timelord rarely feels. I know all the struggles of the universe, yet I can bare to focus on mine for a few moments. It's quite relaxing.

I feel something warm on my hand. I then realize it's Rose's hand. I light shade of red brushed my cheeks. I intertwine my fingers with her's. I'm not used to this feeling of utter happiness.
