akaashi sat on the bench the school provided. he always does it when he waits for his mom to pick him up, listening to the murmurs coming from the students around him and carefully watching the black and white sky.

"oh hey! it's you!" bokuto's voice perks up from behind and akaashi turned to see him grinning.

"hi.." akaashi said awkwardly, trailing off, trying to remember his name. "bokuto-san.." he offered a smile.

the grin on bokuto's face hadn't left as he sat beside akaashi. "what's your name?"

"akaashi.." he paused. "..keiji."

he felt like bokuto's eyes lit up. "akaashi!" he wonders if bokuto always do that.

akaashi smiled a bit before nodding his head.

now this a much, much preferable meeting. there's no red and puffy eyes, or quiet sobs. it's much better for akaashi.

he tilt his head a bit, and smiled. "it's a charcoal blue." akaashi blurted.

yes, he's colorblind. akaashi can't see this world in color. but despise it all, akaashi is gifted with seeing colors in voices. which is terribly rare.

bokuto, who was quiet a few seconds ago, turned to look at akaashi. "hm? what do you mean?"

akaashi chuckles softly. "uhh.. i have this thing called synesthesia.. it lets me see colors in voices.."

"whoa! are you saying my voice is a charcoal blue color?!"

the raven haired boy nodded his head.

he jumped from his seat. "holy shit that anastasia thing you got is amazing!!"

akaashi lets out another soft chuckle, shaking his head. "no.. it's called synesthesia.."

bokuto nodded his head and sat back down. "but.. i always consider myself being colorful."

"i'm sure you are." he paused. "charcoal blue is just one part of you, i guess."

it stayed quiet for the next couple of seconds, before bokuto decided to broke the silence. although, it was a poor subject that he brings.

"were you crying before?"

akaashi felt like his heartbeat quickens as he lied, "no, i wasn't."

bokuto didn't seem to buy his answer either, and it only makes akaashi felt more anxious.

right before bokuto could say anything else, akaashi saw his mother's car in front of the school.

he got up from his seat and turned to bokuto. "looks like i'll be going first.."

the not pleased and curious look on bokuto's face disappear in an instant and was replace back with his goofy and all too friendly look. "oh! okay!"

"... do you.." he paused, glancing back at his mother's car. "need a ride home?"

bokuto shook his head. "it's okay, i'm actually waiting for a friend!"

akaashi nodded his head before starting to walk towards the car that has been waiting for him.

"akaashi!"

akaashi turned around by the mention of his name and saw bokuto waving at him enthusiastically.

"see you tomorrow!"

he let out a chuckle before nodding, and waving back at him. "bye, bokuto-san."

and then just like akaashi disappearing from his sight, the sun too started setting.
