Without Me

"Well then maybe you didn't prepare me enough."

"Or you didn't prepare yourself enough." He retorts.

I narrow my eyes at him, "You asked for my help, that's what I'm doing. Without me you can't do this so, don't start with me."

"I can always find someone else so, without you I can do this."

"Than you go right ahead and do that Clayton and let me know how that goes."

"Fine I will Samantha. Your only here for your mother right? Your words not mine. But, don't forget without me you can't do this."

"I'm pretty sure I can solve it on my own." I retort angrily.

Clayton laughs dryly, "I'd like to see you try."

I kick the back of his seat and he curses.

"Both of you stop!" Declan yells.

"You shut up." Clayton says back to him.

I sit back and look out the window as they bicker and we get closer to home.

I know damn well I can't do this without Clayton and Declan and I most definitely can't solve my mothers disappearance without my father, as much as I wish I could I just can't. Clayton just makes me so mad, he never appreciates what I do, I'm trying I'm really trying but, nothing I ever do is right.

I click on my phone and scroll through my contacts,

Me- "Pick me up."

Cash- "Sure thing."

I click off my phone as we pull into the apartments parking lot. I step out slamming the door shut and leaning against the car.

Declan and Clayton get out and Declan goes up to the apartments.

"What're you doing?" Clayton questions.

"Leaving." I say.

"Samantha just get some rest."

"I'll be back in the morning."

"Oh it's the booty call." He retorts.

"He's not a booty call."

"But he is."

"Clayton mind your own business."

"Samantha just come inside." He says, aggravated.

"No! I will not!" I shout.

"Fine!" He shouts back and turns going up the stairs as Cash pulls up.

I sigh getting in the car and shutting the door.

"I don't want to go." I whine as Cash pulls his shirt over his head.

He chuckles, "Samantha you have school."

I groan burying my head in his bed pillow.

"School is lame." I mumble.
