Two Names, One Person. ~Penn x Reader~

"Psh," Sashi smirked. "It never hurt to try and make more, right?" She suggested.

I smiled softly, opening my bag to get my things. "Maybe."

Hi :)

As usual, I was scrolling through the news feed of Make Friends. And surprisingly, I received a message. It was a simple two-lettered word, with a colon and a closing parenthesis, which is supposed to be a smiley face. I was startled of course. For weeks of not receiving anything, who wouldn't? And a stranger?

I was holding back for seconds now. The message must have been read as 'seen'. So not wanting to be rude towards the person, I replied with a simple hello, firing back the small emoticon.

The person replied seconds after the response.

I'm the kind of girl who's socially awkward, and boring. So if you don't mind, we can chat? I'm bored. XD

I was surprised as well at how he or she acted. I haven't checked their name yet, I was too stumped to realize that I'm actually talking to a person online! I laughed at their reply. I guess they're the same as me.

I think I found my twin! XD.

When they didn't reply in about a minute, I took the time to look at their name tag. The name "(Think of a name you always wanted) (Last Name)" was on the tab, and a profile picture of a girl was their icon. Maybe that girl is them.

I checked the message box again. No replies yet, so this is the opportunity to check her profile. I clicked the underlined name on the tab, and I was redirected to a decent and interesting profile.

Apparently they're a she. She knows how to (talent, hobbies, anything you're good at), which is nice, and she reads different stories of different genres. Because of this, she slowly became an amateur author; only writing things she wanted to write about.

Sorry late reply! I ate my dinner. Anyways, really? That's great!

I didn't notice another message popped up. I stopped through my constant scrolling to know information, just a little bit, about her, and bit by bit I felt like she's an interesting person; a good to be friends with.

I typed my next response after that,

Dinner? It's morning! I'm Penn. :D You are?

She replied seconds later. Then I realized that her name was on her tab, on her profile, so it was utterly stupid to ask her name.

Duh, you already see it. XD And yes, I know. Hahaha. Oh, maybe we're in different countries? It's evening here already.

I see. I'm sorry for asking such question, and for not realizing the obvious. XD

Our conversation went on like that, and slowly I gained confidence whenever I talk with her. In the first weeks of our communication, we got to learn things about ourselves, and once that's through we arranged the schedule of when we're going to talk. Luckily, we handled it, no complications happened.

Boone and Sashi knew about the whole conversation with (O/n) {<- other name! :)} and the get-to-know each other. Meeting her was also the reason why her friends are my friends as well. She introduced them to me in a live chat room, and I'm glad I handled the awkwardness. I myself wouldn't want a bad impression. Oh, my two best pals also met (O/n). They thought I made the right friend, and that I should be doing it often.

But no, I think that having (O/n) is enough. Besides, if I make more friends, it'll just be the start of something new again, and when the time comes I'll eventually forget her through all of that. I don't want that to happen, so I'll stick with (O/n) and her friends only.
