You pulled me behind a tree, telling me you are a princess in another country. You explained to me everything, and made me swore that I wouldn't tell it to anyone. I swore of course, what kind of bestfriend would not?
My mouth opened to squeak. But I held it in. I laughed nervously, placing an arm around your shoulders, pulling you close to me, exiting the side of the tree.
"I am so sorry I insulted you." I apologized, still thrilled to hear that you were a princess.
But a thought entered my brain. You're a princess soon-to-be, so you'll get surrounded by princes by the time you get to your country. And it dawned on me that I'll never have a chance with you at this point.
Things changed after that. The students found out about your change of appearance, the bullies, along with Leikko, teasing you still about it. I defended you with smart words, shutting those girls up.
Weeks later, I then remembered my brother has this robotics presentation coming this weekend. I asked you to come, for my brother really expected you in some reason (probably because you're a princess, and he's thrilled to have a friend of a princess stand by his side along with his friends in his presentation), and luckily you agreed. My brother will be so happy.
But then, the weekend came. In the presentation my brother waited and waited for you, and I was wondering where in the name are you. You can't be contacted by the moment, and that just made it worse. My brother was forced to present with disappointment in him. This made me terribly disappointed to you as well.
And then news came in. You spent the night at Haru's summer party. You were supposed to be with us in Tadashi's presentation, but you were with that stupid guy. You even got caught kissing him! Do you think your image will be fixed after this incident?
It was summer already. So no school. I did my best to ignore you, because what you did was really disappointing, even if everything seemed to be fine by now. But Aunt Cass wanted to give you some pastry, and because she was busy she asked me to do it. As much as I didn't want to I did, going at your house of a firehouse. You were alone there.
"Hiro! Uhm, thanks for the pastry. And, uh- I was wondering if, you could come to my ball tonight? It's seven o'clock pm, and it's to declare whether or not I want to be a princess." I was in no mood to talk to you, and I didn't pay attention to the ball part. "Hiro? Is everything okay?" Then, I felt my eyes drift towards you. The thought of you kissing Haru, the thought of ditching Tadashi and his other friends, plus your brother, and me. "Do you think it's okay, (y/n)?" I said it to you as calm as possible. "You ditched my brother, right when he expected you the most. Doing what? Kissing someone you barely even know."
"Hiro," You softly spoke. But I ignored it. "I don't need an apology, we completely understand what happened." I then sighed. I couldn't be mad at you for long. "It was just disappointing, you know? And for your ball, no thank you."
I left you with no more words. I didn't need them. It was nonesense. I went home with dread inside me.
The rain was completely loud for a summer night then. I was playing with Baymax, my brother's robot whom he presented. He would be happy to meet you, but sadly, you didn't come. Suddenly someone knocked on the apartment door, and since there was no one to answer but me, I did so. I was greeted by a pizza delivery guy, telling me that someone ordered pizza for me. I was confused, I didn't really order one. But the guy told me that there's no more than Hiro Hamada inside, so I was left speechless.
I a m s o s o r r y
That was written on the plain, medium sized chocolate chip cookie pizza, using some small gummy bears to form the words. These two were our favorite treats. You sure do know what to cheer me up, huh?
I looked at the pizza, then back to the cold, wet pavements of the street. I bit my lip, thinking whether I should forgive or not. Oh who am I kidding? Of course I will. Then, I looked at my watch enveloping my wrist. It was only 15 minutes after 7, and it made me jolt. I need to hurry up. I was already late.

After the whole "declaring yourself as princess of your country" thing, you were sent somewhere to dress your gown. Once you went out of the room, I swear I could feel my eyes widen. Your hair was in a neat bun, sealed with a fancy band, and your crown was on top of your head. Your stunning (favorite color) dress that flowed to the ground only enveloped your figure, making you look more beautiful than ever.
I remained in the crowd at first. I didn't know what to do. I wanted to go to you at the right time, and that time happened when I wasn't ready yet.
You saw me through the crowd, your bright (e/c) eyes meeting my chocolate, caramel flecked ones. You smiled, elegantly walking towards me as the crowd made way for you. You offered your hand, and I took it, leading me to your balcony, a perfect view of your dark lawn seen. It was a little dim, only the light from inside illumintated it. The rain finally stopped, which was a relief.
"I'm glad you came," You told me. I just shrugged, laughing lightly. You still kept your smile. Then you leaned real close to my ear, despite you being shorter than me by a few inches. "Thank you, and.." You trailed off. "Hiro?"
Because of how close we are, I felt my cheeks grow hot. I swear I look like a tomato now. So I just did a hum in reply.
"I kinda always knew." It was a random statement, but it took me aback. I pushed you slowly away from my ear, making you face me. You grinned like an idiot.
"Knew what?" I asked slowly. You snorted, shoving me playfully. "Knucklehead! You know what it is." I felt my eyes widen to this. You smirked. "B-But-" I started to speak, but you cut me off. "It's okay," You whispered, cupping my left cheek. "I return your feelings."
"Y-You do?" I asked unbelieveably. You nodded, smiling once again. "B-But (y/n)," I stammered. "Why me?"
"Because you noticed me, when I was still invisible. I never found the right time to thank you, for everything. A-And I realized that, it wasn't Haru, it was you all along." You answered sweetly. I blushed by your response, making you laugh and poke my nose. You hugged me tightly, despite your gown being so tight around you.
And in seconds I found ourselves leaning towards each other, and as much as surreal as it is, the distance between our lips closed. I enjoyed how much soft your glossed lips are, and by this I don't want this sparks inside me stop. I wanted to stop time, to savor this moment.
In that, I too realized, how much lucky I am to have you.
