Why Me? ~Hiro x Reader~

Why would you like someone who teases you with his other cronies? Haru, your 'crush', was like Leikko. She's the meanest cheerleader I know. Sometimes I think that maybe that girl doesn't have a heart at all. She's the head of the bullies who hurt you ever since forever, and- wait, aren't they dating?

"I was just thinking about 'what if's', Hiro." You pinched my cheeks then. I looked at you suspiciously, not really trusting your answer. You stuck your tongue out in a teasing manner, "Haru would never like someone like me." Then, as if magic, your teasing face turned to a sad one. You looked down, shutting your locker shut.

You were saying the right words. You just couldn't live it. That's what I was not hoping for.

And then, everything changed in a day. You were absent that day, and I got sad that you were gone. You didn't even tell me you're going to be absent! I was trying not to be disappointed; telling myself I'm exaggerating.

The following day, you stopped by the cafè, where me, my brother Tadashi, and my Aunt Cass lived. But unexpectedly, instead of seeing the familiar scooter you always rode, I saw a limousine. I was surprised to see such a car parked infront, but I was more surprised when I saw you.

You changed, but not a good change. That's what I thought anyways. Your messy, curly hair that I adored was perfectly wavy, instead of clumsily falling they were relaxing on your back, as if placed under a hot tool to make it that way. Your uniform wasn't crinkled at all, they were perfectly ironed. No more small folds were seen, only the shape of your figure that matched it perfectly. You're not wearing your square glasses, instead clear contact lenses gleamed against your (eye color) eyes. Your lips were now lipglossed to perfection, your bag was new, your dorky shoes were gone, your black socks replaced by stockings- should I go on? Basically everything you are right now is to perfection.

And I hate it.

I wondered that maybe, you did this little makeover to be with them. You wanted to fit in, and be one of the popular girls that roamed stupidly in the school. Maybe it was only a matter of time before I'll lose my bestfriend.

And because I so loathed what you've been recently, during the whole ride I told you mean things about what you are right now. I told you how awful it is that you looked, how awful for you to ditch me yesterday only to do this stupid makeover. You were silent the whole time, gripping tightly on the rim of your skirt, hearing you sniffing. I told you it was stupid to cry on such things, and still I rambled on, my mouth spitting more rude things.

Once we got out of the car, you wiped your eyes while I didn't pay attention. You then snapped at me, right after that stupid limo of yours drove off.

"I am so sick of hearing judgements from my mother, my grandmother," You sternly told me, I just raised my brow. "So I certainly didn't want to hear anything from you!"

"I'm just saying that doing this makes you stupid!" I exclaimed. "Who knows where you'll wander off to? Oh, I know. The jocks! The cheerleaders who pose for who knows what! (Y/n), can't you see? You're becoming like them! I don't know what to do if I lose my only bestfriend!"

"Why can't you see I don't like this at all?!" You remarked. If you didn't like it, then why'd you do it? I told you that, in an awful manner, making you groan, saying you can't tell me. I fumed. "Fine. If you're gonna be like that, being so secret-y to me, then you can say bye-bye to this friendship bracelet!" I told you angrily, fumbling with the locks of the friendship bracelet you and I made back then. You screamed without opening your mouth, making it sound like a screech. You told me not to do it, "Or what?"

"J-Just don't! Please," You begged, sighing in defeat. "Fine, I'll tell you. But don't freak out, okay Hiro?"
