Chapter 1 - If all goes according to plan

I waited in my position atop a tree branch thick green leaves hiding me from the moons soft glow, it had long since passed over its mid point in the sky. It wouldn't be much longer now and I'll receive the signal to continue forward. A smirk rose to my lips, it had been surprisingly easy to infiltrate the hidden leaf village. Security was surprisingly low at the moment and what little they had was easy to sneak past...or take care of.

A flash of orange light caught my attention from atop the building ahead. The signal I'd been waiting for, in an instant I was off and heading for the Hokage mansion. It had taken weeks of planning and mapping for us to find what we were looking for and plan the best way for us to slip in and out undetected. If all goes according to plan this mission should be over in a matter of minutes.

If all goes according to plan.

The night was quiet there was no wind something that made me unsettled. In my village across the seas the wind never stops its consistency is comforting and to be in a place where the wind can be vacant at any one time made me anxious. The sooner we get what we came for the better.

I didn't slow down once I reached the base of the building. Instead I focused chakra into my feet and began to run up the side. The window on the fifth floor would be open. I took a look at my surroundings. The village was built in a massive circle with a large fence surrounding its borders. There were no villagers awake at this hour and no sign of any ninja nearby on guard, I guess Kano must have done his job... for once, the corners of my lips pulled up that would have to be a first for him. Maybe this mission will go smoothly after all.

A familiar presence appeared beside me, I would have been startled but I'd grown used to him being able to sneak up on me like that. I looked to my right where Shiro was now running his black hair hung loosely from underneath his bandana and his dark eyes looked over at me, he gave a small nod in both confirmation and greeting before looking back ahead.

Once we reached the window I graciously slipped in ahead of him landing silently within the dark room. Now we just had to find the scrolls.

"About time you got here, I was starting to get bored" my eyes snapped to the other side of the room where a red headed boy sat on a desk and my blood began to boil, Kano, that idiot. So much for things going smoothly he is supposed to be out on watch making sure we don't get discovered. He always finds a way to screw things up, usually by not being where he was suppose to be.

"What do you think you're doing here!" I seethed at him trying not to be too loud. He hopped of the desk and walked over seeming completely unaffected by my fuming tone.

"What do you mean?" he replied feigning ignorance whilst his blue eyes showed nothing but amusement. This was all just a game to him, why can't he be serious just once.

"Can't you follow simple instructions? You're supposed to be waiting on guard! Is that so difficult?" I shot back at him placing my hands on my hips. Once again he's jeopardising this mission because he can't follow a simple instruction, we'd better survived this mission I wanted to kill him myself.
