Generosity

Kindness can drive out evil

Love can overcome hate

Sympathy can cure heartache

And a friend can alleviate pain...

I was that friend

At least I tried to be

Putting myself last

With all my efforts of generosity

I'd listen to them 

While being drenched in bittersweet tears

Offering my condolences

And telling them not to fear

"There is always tomorrow

So please don't live your life in sorrow

Keep your head up despite the weight

Because nothing good can come of your current state"

The problem is when the pain goes away

They often forget what you've done

Or refuse to appreciate

Not to say what I've done didn't come from my heart

Or how I was looking for something in return from the start

There was only one thing I wanted you to see

Unrestricted love wrapped in generosity
