Azriel was walking through the store when he felt eyes on the back of his neck. He stopped and glanced around, but the aisle was empty except for a tall teen with black hair browsing through the cupcakes.
Azriel side-eyed him for a second and felt his stomach drop, but he wasn't sure why. He shook his head forcefully, made himself ignore the feeling of hatred stirring in his stomach and started walking again. He strode down another aisle, but the feeling followed him. He kept glancing back and the guy was never out of his sight.
Am I being followed?
Sure, Az knew he was hot as hell, but, Jesus christ; Az hoped he didn't have another stalker. Stasia was bad enough, especially with the help of Izzy, Az's least favorite prophet.
Well, at least this one was a guy.
Fighting against his baser instinct, Azriel kept going. He got into line and noticed that the teen didn't follow him there; the teen got into the next line.
Azriel decided that it would be best to just ignore him -for now- and went through check-out. He was leaving the store and heading into the alley next to it to open a portal when he saw the kid leaning against the stores brick wall, unwrapping a red velvet cupcake.
"You want the frosting? I'm not a big fan of the stuff, too sweet," the kid said very casually as he swiped the sweet - fake - cream cheese frosting off with his index finger and offered it to Azriel. Az arched an eyebrow at him and pursed his lips.
"No thanks," he sniffed. "I don't know where that finger's been."
The teen smirked and flicked it off with a devious chuckle. "Your loss."
Azriel could feel his eyebrow start twitching and took a deep breath; this kid reminded Azriel way too much of Stasia. Damn sarcasm. "Is there a reason you're stalking me?"
"I wouldn't call it stalking. I'd say...selective following. After all, it's not everyday that I see a demon thingy casually buying groceries. I'm a bit curious as to why you're here."
Az growled under his breath, finally realizing where the feeling of hatred had come from. "Fucking angel spawn." Then he paused, his eyebrow arching against his will, and he began waving his bag of groceries around. "And, I don't know, whatever could I be doing at a grocery store? It couldn't possibly be grocery shopping."
The Nephilim's smirk widened. "Well, if you're doing something so," his smirk morphed into a sneer, "mundane, you must not be worth the effort. See you, demon thingy." He snapped his fingers and disappeared just as Az opened his mouth.
"Cambion!"
