So, I am an atheist. And for those of you who don't know what atheism is, it's the disbelief or lack of a belief in the existence of god or gods.
I became an atheist in 2014 after realizing I had not done anything having to do with my religion at birth (Christianity.) Also, I believe science is the answer to our problems, as it can give concrete proof. Before you get mad, I do celebrate christmas, although that is due to my family's cultural beliefs.
But I have nothing against religion. I am perfectly fine with it, except that I am an atheist.
To me, religion is only dangerous if you take the teachings and completely put it out of wack, like what the ISIL terrorists, as well as other terrorists, do with the Koran. (Can I safely say Fuck ISIL?) Actually, Muslims here correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Koran say absolutely NOTHING about violence? I'm wondering that, but I remember it from CNN or something. (As I said before, correct me if I'm wrong)
None of my friends are atheists, they all identify as christian. However, I feel that most people in my town, generally are more progressive than some people I have met. I won't say who, but I have met people who are less progressive.
That is all. I know this is a short part, but I felt I had to put my views into writing.
