I was being dragged don the hall by, I had no idea who actually. When we slowed down i noticed it was the gorgeous guy that was staring at me, what was he doing? He stopped at my locker. "Hi, I'm Cole."  He said smiling.

"I'm--"    "You're Kaylee, I know." he knew my name already? How in the world... Ian must have told him.  "What's your next class?" Cole asked. I reached in my back pocket and pulled out my crumpled schedule, "Um, American History with Ms. Deed." I choked out. "Hey, me too!" he said maybe a little too excited, "Can I walk you there?"

"Uhh, sure," I mumbled. I opened my locker, grabbed my book, and walked to class with Cole, who seemed very sure of himself.

The rest of the day went by very smoothly, as my new friends helped me out for the next three classes. On the car ride home I took the time to look out the window, which i wasn't concerned about earlier. It was a very calm town. One grocery store, a couple of cafes, but not much other then that, it's very humble. We pulled into our driveway, and I noticed our neighbors throwing muddy snowballs at eachother. A tall boy , and tall girl, both I guessed, were both my age. "See you in a bit dad," I said as i get out of the truck. " Wait, where are you going?" he called as i walked back to the truck door. " I'm gonna meet the neighbors, i'll be back by 6." i shut the door and waved back at him.

I walked the half mile to the next house and saw the kids. "Hey," i called "I'm Kaylee." They looked at me for a moment, then introduced themselves. "Natalie, but you can call me Nat, everyone else does, and that's my brother Neil, he's kinda shy." She said rolling her eyes at the last part, as i looked around her to see neil about ten feet back leaning against an old, beat-up car. "Hey." I called back to him, he nodded his head and smiled. I looked at Nat to see her rolling her eyes again as she rolled up a snowball and gave it a good whip, and hit with a thud against neils's jacket. He turtned around and gave Nat a glare, I smiled. Nat gave Neil a look back, then started walking towards me. But as soon as her back was turned to Neil, he rolled up a snowball, ran up behind her, and slammed it against her head. "Hahaha" he bursted out laughing, "Now.. we are... even." he choked out between his laughs. But he got quieter as he got closer to me again. "Sorry," Nat said to me, "we got distracted."

"Oh, no worries, trust me, good entertainment." i blurted out holding back my laughter. She smiled at that, " Well I'll see you guys around then." I said. "Okay, see you at school?" Nat asked.  "For sure."  i turned to leave, happy that i met yet another friend.  I was about 30 feet down the road when Neil ran up behind me. "Hey," he called catching up to me, "Kaylee!' I spun around to face him. "Yeah?" i said wondering what he wanted. It took a second for him to answer. "Umm... Well i was wondering if i could show you around town?" That caught me off gaurd, " Well, I said I would be back at 6.. but I could call my dad and tell him I'll be home a little late?" I gave him a grim smile, and he gave his crooked smile back. "Okay, that works for me then."

Neil went to get his car as I called my dad to explain that i might be a little bit later then I planned, but he was okay with it. I hung up the phone just as Neil pulled up with his car, and i was happy he was there. A car meant heat, and i was cold. He cracked his window, "Hop in." I stalked around to the passenger side door and hopped in. Thankfully, he had already turned the heat on full blast. " So where to first?" I asked "Well i was thinking I would take you down to father Hennepin."

" Father Hennepin?"

"Oh it's a state park just outside of Isle" He explained "it's pretty cool this ime of year."

"Oh, sounds like fun." I grinned, I was actually excited to see this, I mean if a teenage boy thoughtit was cool, it must be something to see. " I like your car." I commented

"Ha, thanks, it's an 85 Camaro IROC-Z, it's in pretty good shape too, just a littl edent on the back bumber, and some paint chipped on the fenders." He explained.

"Yeah it's really cool, I just have an old truck. I got it a few days ago, but it is still on it's way here."

" Sounds cool to me."

"I think it will be." I gave a half smile, and Neil slowed the car, as we pulled onto the road of Father Hennepin. There were quite a few roads that branched out to different parts of the park. Picnic area, campground, and a rv dumping. The scenery was amazing, the lake frozen over, the trees frosted with the fresh snow, just beautiful.

We ended up turning down the campground road. "I figured we could walk some of the rails." he glistened. "Oh, uh, well I'm not really dr--" he cut me off " I have extra clothes in the back." he  pointed to the back seat. "Are you sure? what are you gonna wear? I don't want you to get cold." I didn't want to be rude, and let  him give me all of his warm clothes.

"Ha, I think I'm good, I'm used to it. I've got my jacket and hat, it's all I need."

"Okay, if your sure?"

"I'm positive." he gave his half smile, i was really starting to like that smile. He got out, after turning off the car, and grabbed an old stocking cap, and some gloves, and threw them at me. " That should do it" he laughed as I scrambled to get the extra layers on as fast as I could. "Thanks Neil." I grinned

"No problem."

I finally got all of the clothes on, and we headed out. We started out on the bike trail that looked back around. Conversation flowed easily with Neil, I asked him about school and sports. He said he did pretty decent, and had a b- to a c average or so, which he said was imporatnat because of the sports he was in. He continued to tell me that he played football and basketball, occatinally pointing out something on the trail. He was a reciever in football, and a line man when needed, but he said he liked basketball the best. He played a center, and that was pretty obvious, because was TALL. After he answered my questions, he asked about me, so i told him. I play volleyball, basketball, and softball, but basketball is my favorite too. I tod him that i also am a center in basketball, so we had that in common. Then he asked about my family. "Well, I moved here with my dad from California, and my brother goes to the U of M. Me and my dad are pretty close, so are my brother and I." I sighed " Wemoved here because my dad was sick of the city life, he used to live here when he was in highschool, and he liked it. So here I am." I smiled to let him know i was finished, Just as we got back to the car. He nodded, letting me know that he heard me.

" So where to next?" I ask as we get into the car. "Well, I was thinking maybe we could go bowling..if that's okay with you?"

"Awesome, I love bowling, I haven't gone in forever, it should be fun!" I laughed at my dorkiness

"Cool, let's go then" he was obviously excited, but I was too, I needed to get out of the house for a while. It's been a lot of stress since we moved here.

We pulled up to the Isle Bowl and pizza, and parked by the curb. " Here we are." Neil said, but before i could say anything back, he had shut off the car, and made it to my door to open it. "Thanks." i grinned, no guy has ever opened a door for me before. I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out. We walked to the door of the bowling alley, he opened the door , and we walked in.

"Neil, I do have to warn you, I have no dought in my mind.."
